A Minion for Jae
It is my granddaughter Jae’s 5th birthday today. Happy Birthday Jae. I cannot believe how quickly she has grown and next year she will be starting school.
Apparently Jae is a big fan of the Minion’s and so I found a link to a card by Rhonda Fawcett which had a worksheet showing the different punches she had used. I used this as the guide to create this card for Jae.
I attached my Minion to Whisper White card and then to Island Indigo card before attaching to scored and folded Whisper White card. I created five balloons by stamping the balloon from Sketched Birthday onto Whisper White card using Real Red, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight ink and then cut them out. I attached them to the Minion’s hand and used dimensionals and Glue Dots to attach them to the card front. I stamped happy birthday from the Sassy Salutions stamp set onto the card front using Real Red ink.
Inside the card I stamped the greeting from the Bring on the Cake stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink. I coloured the “5” using a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker.
Of course you have to have a matching gift bag and so I created another Minion. I embossed Whisper White card and attached it to Island Indigo card which has both long edges punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. This piece is attached to a plain white gift bag I purchased at Spotlight (Australia). I punched Island Indigo card using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. I cut the number 5 from Whisper White card using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (retired) and attached it to the centre of the Island Indigo circle. I punched the heart from the Owl Builder Punch from Island Indigo card and attached it to the bottom of the circle. I ran the piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I cut a narrow strip of Island Indigo card and attached it to the back of the “balloon” using a dimensional.
I added a small piece of dimensional to the back of the Minion’s hand to hold the end of the “balloon string”. The “Happy Birthday Jae” is cut from Island Indigo card using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet (retired).
I really love how this turned out and so did Jae.
Remember you can purchase the supplies needed to create this card from my online store.

Sunny Challenge 91/13
This weeks Sunny Challenge has been set by me. I created a simple sketch for you to use any way you wish. I can’t wait to see your amazing creations, remember, it can be a card, scrap page or 3d item.
I used the truly gorgeous Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper and took the colours for my card from the designer paper. I added two pieces of Designer Series Paper to Whisper White card. I embossed a strip of Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, attached it to Coastal Cabana card with both long edges punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and then attached it over the Designer Series Paper. This piece is attached to scored and folded Coastal Cabana card.
I stamped the chevron oval from the Oh Hello stamp set onto Whisper White card using Coastal Cabana ink and cut it using the smallest oval in the Ovals Collection Framelits. I cut Coastal Cabana card using the next size Oval from the Ovals Collection Framelits and attached the two ovals. I added this to the card front using dimensionals. I inked the flower from the Oh Hello stamp set using Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Markers and cut it out. I attached the flower to the centre of the ovals using a Two Way Glue Pen. To decorate the inside of the card, I inked the flower stamp using the same Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it onto the lower left hand corner of Whisper White card.
I embossed a strip of Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, attached it to punched Coastal Cabana card and then to the Whisper White card over the stem of the flower.
I think this is such a lovely card and could be used for any number of occasions, which is why I didn’t add a greeting either to the front or the inside. I’d love to hear what you think.
Anyway for more inspiration, pop on over to Sunny Challenges and Creations and see what the other Design Team members have created. Once you have made your card, scrap page or 3d item, pop back and add it to Mr. Linky. We know that everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas, so maybe you could use the sketch as inspiration for one of your Christmas cards this year.
Bye for now,
Kris
Ornament Tag
Here is another gift tag I designed recently. I was going to share this with you earlier this week as part of the Sunny Challenge but I ran out of time. Anyway it was a fun tag to make and I thought you might like to see it anyway..
My tag dimensions are 6″ x 3″. I embossed the lower section of the Whisper White card using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder. I punched both long edges of a strip of Cherry Cobbler card using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and attached it to cover the end of the embossing. I stamped “to, from” from the Tag It stamp set using Cherry Cobbler ink. I attached the Whisper White card to Cherry Cobbler card and punched a hole using my Crop-A-Dile. I stamped the ornament from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink, three times and cut them out using the matching Holiday Ornament Framelit. I scored the stamped images in half and attached them back to back. I cut another framelit from Whisper White card and attached the stamped framelits to the top and then to the tag. I threaded Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding through the punched hole and tied a knot.
I think this will look very cute on someone’s Christmas present this year. What do you think? Would you like to make this tag?, All of the supplies can be purchased at my online store.

Thinlet Card Dies
Who loves to make interactive cards, you know, the kind that do something a bit special. I guess we all do but sometimes it just takes so long that we don’t do it. Well here is the answer to your prayers, these Thinlet Card Dies cut your card and create a flip window all at the same time. Of course Stampin’ Up! wouldn’t leave it at just that, each of these Thinlet Card Dies also comes with some amazing little pieces of this and that so that you can create gorgeous one of a kind masterpieces in the “turn of a handle”.
Being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator means that you can get your hands on new releases a little bit earlier and I have had time to play a little with these new dies. I think they are just sensational. As soon as my Dies arrive, I had to play and the first thing I could lay my hands on was some retired Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper. I followed a video tutorial by the very talented Patty Bennett to create my card with another flap on the right hand side, so that I could have a place to add my message.
Here is my card closed.
And here it is partially open.
And fully open.
Isn’t it cute? I can’t wait to see how many ways I can use these dies. Take a look at the flyer and see which one you need right now. You can purchase the Thinlet Card Dies directly at my online store. If you would like to see more, contact me and we can organise a private showing for you, your family and friends.
Bye for now,

Morning Meadow
I am a little embarrassed to say that this is the first time I have used this lovely Hostess set, Morning Meadow. I have had it since this catalogue launched and I really love it, but for some reason just hadn’t used it. Well, anyway, I found an old sketch at Sketch Frenzy Friday and thought that it fitted perfectly with this stamp set.
I inked the floral image using Pistachio Pudding ink and stamped it onto Whisper White card, making sure to stamp several times before re-inking to fill the space before attaching the stamped piece to Primrose Petals card. I attached a piece of the gorgeous Pistachio Pudding 3/8″ Ribbon to a length of Smoky Slate 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon and then wrapped it around the left hand edge of the stamped piece. I made sure to stretch the Pistachio Pudding Ribbon when I attached it to the Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon so that it would sit nicely on the card.
The image panel is attached to scored and folded Baked Brown Sugar card. I stamped the frame image onto Whisper White card using Baked Brown Sugar ink and stamped happy birthday in the centre using Primrose Petals ink. I cut the image using an Oval Framelit and then traced around the outside of the same framelit on Primrose Petals card and cut it out. I wanted a smaller frame around the image than I would have if I used the next size up Oval Framelit. (Does that make sense?). I attached the greeting to the front of the card using dimensionals on each end so that it would sit over the ribbon properly.
Inside the card I stamped the bird image using Primrose Petals ink and added ribbon as I did on the front of the card.
I really love this card and I don’t know why I waited so long to use this set. Anyway you can purchase all the supplies you need from my online store, except the stamp set, that one you can get free with a qualifying order. So contact me to organise your in home party, so you can start creating with this gorgeous stamp set.

Techo Challenge
I surprised myself and had time to play along with another challenge this week. This time it’s for the Techo Stamper Monday Lunchtime Challenge. Mary Jo has a great sketch this week which gave me the opportunity to use some much neglected designer series paper.
I cut strips of the Gingham Garden Designer Series paper and attached them to Night of Navy card. I attached this panel to scored and folded Whisper White card and then stamped the greeting from the Hostess Set Express Yourself using Night of Navy ink. I punched both long edges in a strip of Night of Navy card using the Scallop Trim Border Punch, wrapped it with Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon and attached it to the designer series paper panel.
I stamped the image from the Embellished Events stamp set onto Whisper White card using Old Olive ink and punched it out using the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch. I attached the image to a Night of Navy 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle and then the card front using dimensionals. Lastly I added three Primrose Petal In-colour Dahlias to the image using Glue Dots.
To decorate the inside I punched one long edge of Night of Navy card using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and attached a narrow strip of designer series paper.
Sometimes it’s nice to not add too much to the inside so that you can add what you need when you are ready to give the card.
Remember that all of the supplies to complete this card can be purchased at my online store.
Bye for now,
Kris
Sketch Frenzy Friday
I don’t often to get to the chance to play along with many challenges lately. I seem to be keeping busy with other things. However, I decided to make a card today using the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday’s latest challenge. It also gave me another opportunity to use a Framelit so it fits perfectly with the Sunny Challenge as well.
I embossed Whisper White card using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Cherry Cobbler Card. I attached another piece of Cherry Cobbler card and a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the ornament from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and used the matching Holiday Ornament Framelit to cut it out. I attached the ornament to the card front using dimensionals and added a Basic Rhinestone to the centre.
I couldn’t resist tying a bow in the beautiful Silver 1/8″ Ribbon and attaching it to the ornament with a Glue Dot.
To decorate the inside, I stamped the greeting from the Delightful Dozen stamp set using Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White card. I created an ornament as before and attached it to the top of the Whisper White card. I also attached a small piece of the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon tied in a knot using a Glue Dot.
I am really happy with the way this has turned out. I think the Silver Glimmer Paper adds just the right amount of “wow”, don’t you.
I hope you are having a fantastic day – crafting of course – maybe you will be able to fit in a challenge or two yourself.
Bye for now,
Kris
Sunny Challenge 90/13
This week’s Sunny Challenge has been brought to us by Gwen. She would like us to use “framelits” on our card, scrap page or 3d item. Since there are lots of framelits that you can use, it should be easy for you to join our challenge this week.
With Christmas approaching so fast, I decided to make a Christmas Tag using the Apothecary Accents Framelit Dies and also the Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies.
I cut Very Vanilla card using the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and made sure to cut it on the fold. I cut another framelit from Soft Suede. I also cut another one of these framelits from Very Vanilla card, this time I moved the framelit ever so slightly to make it smaller to attach to the front of the card. Tanya Bell has an awesome Video which shows you how to do this here.
I attached the Soft Suede Framelit to the front of the Very Vanilla framelit cut on the fold. I embossed the lower two-thirds of the Very Vanilla Framelit which I had reduced in size, using the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder and attached it to the Soft Suede Framelit. I stamped the image from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out using the matching Holiday Ornament Framelit Die. I attached the ornament to the front of the tag and added a row of Basic Rhinestones. I stamped “merry christmas” from the Embellished Events stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Soft Suede ink and cut it out using the largest Bitty Banner Framelit Die. I attached the greeting to Soft Suede card and cut the ends to match the die. I used my bone folder to give some shape to the Banner and added two dimensionals on top of each other to the back of the banner in the centre.
I added a Glue Dot to each end of the Banner and then attached it to the front of the tag over the ornament. I stamped “to from” from the Tag It stamp set to the inside of the tag using Soft Suede ink. I punched a hole through the top of the tag using the smallest hole on the Crop-A-Dile and tied Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding through the hole.
This was a fun tag to make and I am sure to be making more of these for my Christmas presents this year. For more inspiration pop on over to Sunny Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created. Once you have made your card, scrap page or 3d Item, pop back to Sunny Challenges and add it to Mr. Linky. As always we look forward to see your creations.
Bye for now,
Kris
Cased Christmas
I CASED this card from one by Narelle Farrugia I saw on Pinterest. I loved the way she had created a forest of trees.
I cut a piece of the Polka Dot Designer Series Paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack and attached it to Chocolate Chip card. This piece is attached to Whisper White card and then to scored and folded Crumb Cake card. I cut strips of Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake card, cut “v’s” in one end and attached them to the top of the designer series paper. I stamped Merry Christmas from the More Merry Messages stampset onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut a “v” in one end. I attached the greeting to Chocolate Chip card which I trimmed to match before attaching it to the card front. I stamped the “solid” tree from the Evergreen stamp set onto scrap Whisper White card using Old Olive ink, three times. I stamped the “outline” tree over each of the “solid” images using Chocolate Chip ink and cut them out. The trees are attached to the card front so that they are overlapping. Lastly I added three Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots to the top left hand corner.
To decorate the inside of the card, I attached a strip of the Polka Dot Designer Series Paper to Chocolate Chip card and then to Whisper White card. I stamped the tree as before using Old Olive and Chocolate Chip ink before attaching to the inside of the card.
I think this is a great card, don’t you? Thanks again to Narelle for the inspiration.
