Sunny Challenge No. 48
This week we have a gorgeous sketch from Vicky and she has added that we need to use the colours Chocolate Chip and Old Olive.
I attached a piece of Chocolate Chip designer paper and also a piece of Old Olive designer paper to Very Vanilla card stock. The designer paper is from the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks – Neutrals and Brights. I wrapped this piece with some of the pretty Chocolate Chip 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon and then attached it to scored and folded Chocolate Chip card stock. I stamped two of the leaves from the French Foliage stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock using Old Olive ink. I stamped the same leaves onto Post-It-Notes and cut them out – using them to cover the images on the Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the text image from the French Foliage stamp set over the top of the masked leaves using Chocolate Chip ink. I removed the mask and using the dotted image, randomly stamped over the whole piece using Old Olive ink. 
I sponged the edges of the stamped panel using Chocolate Chip ink, attached it to Chocolate Chip card stock and then to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock using Old Olive ink and punched it using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. I attached the greeting to a Chocolate Chip 1-3/8″ Circle and then to the card front. I used a dimensional under the lower part of the image and snail on the top part of the image so that it would sit slightly over the larger stamped panel.
This is a really neat sketch and one that I will be using again. I store my sketches away in a folder and when I am looking for inspiration, get it out and flip through them until I find something that suits my needs.

Butterflies everywhere
Sudsol (a demonstrator only website) has a whole lot of challenges each week and one is a CASE (copy and share everything) challenge. Usually it is a card shared by Stampin’ Up! in their demonstrator only magazine. This week the challenge used a stamp set which I don’t own and also the new in-colours released in the US last month. I decided to play along anyway using the supplies I had on hand.
My base card is Crumb Cake and I have embossed the bottom of the card stock using the Finial Press Embossing Folder. I stamped the butterfly image from the Cottage Garden stamp set onto Whisper White card using Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo. 
I absolutely adored this stamp set when it was first released but it has been sadly neglected for some time. I punched card stock to match the ink colours using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch and attached them behind the Whisper White card before attaching the stamped panel to the card front. I stamped the saying from the Cottage Garden stamp set onto Whisper White card using Calypso Coral ink and attached it to Calypso Coral Card. I used my 1-1/4″ Square Punch to create a “flag” effect on one end and using dimensionals attached it to the card front. This is one very simple layout but I love the effect of multiple images to create the feature.

A Recycling Project
The challenge at Late Night Stampers this week is to make a project recycling something. Well, recently I had seen someone repurpose a Laughing Cow cheese container and since I had one on hand, I thought I would give it a try.
I used the beautiful Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper to cover the lid and sides of the box. Since this was my first try I am not too unhappy with the result but I think I would try something different on the sides next time. I made a flower from Real Red card stock using the Fun Flowers Bigz Large Die. I only cut one of each flower on the die but used my bone folder to soften the cardstock so that I could separate each flower into two layers. 
By scrunching each flower and then staking onto an Antique Brad, the flower gets a little more dimension. To finish off this little box, I used more of the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper to make 4 coasters to go inside the box. My coasters consist of a layer of cork, then a layer of designer paper and then a layer of window sheet. I used the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to adhere each layer and then cut the coasters using a 3-1/2″ Circle Die (non-Stampin’ Up!).
I think this would make a cute gift for someone special. What do you think?

It’s about time….
I shared a little more with you. I have been rather busy since I got home, getting up to date with my chores, helping my Mum and Dad move and trying to get some cards done for my challenge blog (Sunny Challenges and Creations). Despite all that I have done some creating but just haven’t had a chance share, so here is a birthday card I made recently.
I cut a piece of Regal Rose Designer Series Paper from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack and attached it to Crumb Cake card. I stamped the greeting from the Bring On The Cake stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink. I attached this piece to scored and folded Chocolate Chip card. I embossed Whisper White card with the “hearts” from the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders and attached it to Chocolate Chip card which has the long edge punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. This piece was then attached to the card front over the designer paper. I stamped the cupcake image from the Create a Cupcake stamp set using Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card and punched the image using the Cupcake Builder Punch. I stamped the icing image from the Create a Cupcake stampset onto Whisper White card using Regal Rose ink and punched it using the Cupcake Builder Punch. 
I stamped over the icing with the “spotted” image using Chocolate Chip ink and then attached the icing behind the cupcake. The whole piece is attached to the card front using dimensionals.
This is super quick and super simple but lends itself to being suitable for either an adult or a child.

Sunny Challenges Week 47
This week’s challenge at Sunny Challenges is set by me and I just want you to use a colour combination – River Rock, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist. This combo is straight off the colour coach so it should be fantastic.
After setting the challenge, I actually was a bit stumped as to what to do, but finally found an idea for a layout in my big folder of ideas that I thought might work. I attached pieces of River Rock Designer Series Paper (from the Neutrals Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks) across a piece of Marina Mist card stock which I had punched along one long edge using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I wrapped this with Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding and tied a knot. This whole piece is attached to scored and folded Whisper White card stock. I stamped the small flower image from the Bordering on Romance stamp set using Stazon Jet Black ink onto the card front. I coloured the image using Marina Mist, River Rock and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers. Lastly I stamped the greeting from the Loving Thoughts stamp set using Cherry Cobbler ink.
I’m kind of impressed, it’s such a simple card and yet I think it looks great. What about you, what do you think?

A Reason to Smile Birthday
I used the sketch from Sudsol and the lovely stamp set Reason to Smile which was is only available to purchase or earn for free until the end of the month. If you need more details see this post.
I used the large flower in the Reason to Smile stampset and stamped it in Tangerine Tango ink, making sure that I stamped onto scrap paper once with the background image before stamping over the top with the detail image on Whisper White card (I love two-step stamps, don’t you?). I attached the stamped piece to Tangerine Tango card. I punched one long edge of a strip of Always Artichoke card with the Eyelet Border Punch and wrapped it with Chocolate Chip 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon and tied a knot. I stamped the greeting from the Sincere Salutations stampset onto Whisper White card using Tangerine Tango ink. 
I attached the greeting behind the Always Artichoke card and then attached it to the card front. The whole piece was then attached to scored and folded Chocolate Chip card.
I think it is a shame that we only have this stampset available for such a short time, because it is really a lovely set to use.

Joy Fold Card
After making the Z-fold birthday card for this week’s challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations I was inspired to make another fancy fold card, this time a Joy Fold. You will find really good instructions for this fold written by Beate Johns at Splitcoast Stampers. If you haven’t played along with our challenge this week, you still have time, it doesn’t close till about 7pm on Friday.
I started with a base card of Early Expresso and I added a layer of Well Worn Designer Series Paper. I also decorated the front using another piece of the same designer series paper. To create the central panel I also used Early Expresso card. 
I stamped the car from the Need for Speed stampset onto Very Vanilla using Early Expresso ink and sponged the edges using the same ink. I added a mat of Cajun Craze card and attached it to the front fold. Inside the card I added Very Vanilla card which is sponged around the edges with Early Expresso ink. I didn’t have a stamp for “happy father’s day” so I printed it using my computer. 
I stamped “celebrate” from the Fabulous Phrases stampset onto Very Vanilla card using Early Expresso ink and punched it using the Word Window Punch. I re-inserted the greeting into the Word Window Punch to create a smaller word window. The greeting was attached to a Cajun Craze Large Oval and then to an Early Expresso Scallop Oval. I attached the greeting to the front using dimensionals so that the front flap could be locked underneath it.

Anniversary Card
It was my Mum and Dad’s Wedding Anniversary last week (58 years I think) and this is the card that I made for them.
I inked “congratulations” from the Perfect Punches stamp set using my Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped onto Whisper White card. I attached this to scored and folded Elegant Eggplant card. I cut a narrow strip of Elegant Eggplant card and punched both long edges using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I attached the punched card to Whisper White card and embossed the piece using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I wrapped the embossed card with Whisper White 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon, tied a knot, added a layer of Elegant Eggplant card and then attached it to the card front. I cut Perfect Plum card using the Scalloped Heart of Heart embosslit. I punched Whisper White card with the Full Heart Punch and then placed it inside the Scalloped Heart of Heart embosslit to add the tiny embossed dots. 
This piece was then attached to the Perfect Plum heart. I punched Perfect Plum card using the Heart to Heart punch and embossed the large and small heart inside the Scalloped Heart of Heart embosslit. After attaching the hearts to the card front using dimensionals, I added a few Basic Rhinestones to add a little bling.
I think this card is missing something but it’s the best I can come up with at the moment.

Sunny Challenge No. 46
We had so much fun making Fancy Fold cards a couple of weeks ago that Gwen has given us the opportunity to make another one this week. A few weeks ago Lee Conrey shared a tutorial on making Z-Fold cards at Stamping 411. I can thoroughly recommend this tutorial as being really easy to follow.
I started with Whisper White card stock which I partially embossed on the inside/back of the card using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. I also embossed a separate piece of Whisper White card stock using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, attached it to Early Expresso card stock and then to the front of the card. The embossing lines up and frames the central image panel. I cut Real Red cardstock using the largest square scallop on the Scallop Squares Duo Die. 
I stamped the largest flower from the Vintage Vogue stamp set using Red ink onto Whisper White card stock twice . I masked the flowers and stamped over the top using the leaves and the foliage stamp using Lucky Limeade ink. I stamped three of the small flowers from the Vintage Vogue stamp set onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Real Red ink which I had stamped off once first. I stamped one of the large flowers onto Whisper White card stock using Real Red ink. I cut each flower out and attached two of the small flowers on top of the stamped flowers. I stamped four of the single leaf images onto Whisper White card stock using Lucky Limeade ink and cut them out. 
I attached the leaves behind the large flower already cut out and then attached the last small flower to the centre of the large flower. This flower is attached to the Whisper White card stock over the stamped images using dimensionals. I attached large Basic Rhinestones to the centres of all three flowers. I cut the numbers using a non-Stampin’ Up! die from Real Red card stock and attached them in the top right hand corner.
Inside the card I attached Whisper White card stock which I embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder to Early Expresso card stock which has one long edge punched using the Scallop Border Punch. 
I stamped “happy birthday wishes” using Early Expresso ink onto Whisper White card stock and attached it to the centre of another Scallop Square cut from Real Red card stock using the Scallop Squares Duo Die. I attached the greeting piece on the inside of the card making sure that it lined up with the Scallop Square on the front of the card.
I love this fold. I can see lots of uses for it. This particular card is for my Aunty who very recently celebrated her 70th birthday. Happy Birthday Aunty Bev.

Technostamper Challenge 226
I think my mojo is still on holidays, I am finding it difficult to be creative at the moment. So, to help things along I decided to play along with MaryJo’s sketch this week.
I stamped the En Francaise Background onto Pretty in Pink card using Pretty in Pink ink, sponged the edges with the same ink and attached it to scored and folded Whisper White card. I punched Wisteria Wonder card using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and attached a piece behind each long edge of strips of Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper to create a very narrow and dainty scallop border. I stamped “best wishes” from the Sincere Salutations stamp set into the bottom right hand corner of the Pretty in Pink card using Wisteria Wonder ink. I stamped the tea cup image from the Tea Shoppe stamp set using Wisteria Wonder ink onto Whisper White card, inking only the images on either end. I stamped the middle tea cup using Pretty in Pink ink onto scrap Whisper White card, cut it out and attached it with a dimensional between the Wisteria Wonder tea cups. The Whisper White card is edged with Wisteria Wonder card punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, the same as the designer paper. I attached the image panel to the card front using dimensionals.
Here is a close up of the cups and maybe you can see just a little of the background stamping. You can also see the tiny scallop edge that is created by using the Dotted Ribbon Border Punch.
I’m not perfectly happy with this card so I’d love to hear your suggestions for improving it.
