Baby Mobile
I was inspired to make this mobile by one I saw somewhere on the web using butterflies and have no record of who created it. I used templates from the tutorials that were shared on the Summer Edition of Inkspirations 4U.

For those of you with the Petal Cone Die, making this will be a lot easier. I used Bashful Blue and Whisper White to create my mobile. I cut 3 of the petal cone shapes from Bashful Blue card for the top of the mobile and attached them together. I cut Whisper White mats and ran them through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I also cut the scallop pieces from Whisper White card, embossed them with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and attached them on the underside of the mobile. I used a piece of Whisper White 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon to hang the mobile. I cut a tiny piece off the top of the petal cone pieces and pushed the ribbon through from underneath after tying a knot in the end. I used a template to cut a hexagonal piece to fit inside the mobile. I used some white crochet cotton as the strings for my mobile and attached them so that the knots were on the top of the hexagonal piece. Once I attached it inside using sticky strip it covered all the knots in the ribbon and crochet cotton.

I stamped images from the Animal Stories and Fox and Friends stampsets onto Whisper White card using Bashful Blue ink. The largest image was stamped onto the largest oval from the Ovals originals die. I made a narrow trim from Bashful Blue card with one edge punched using the Scallop Trim Border which is sandwiched between the two images. The other images were stamped onto various circles and attached to either the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle of the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle cut from Bashful Blue card. The crochet trim is sandwiched between the two sets of images. I also added 3 clear crystal beads at the ends of the crochet trim and underneath each image to add a bit of sparkle.

This shows a couple of the images in a bit more detail so you can see what I mean.

I decorated the top of the mobile by cutting Bashful Blue card using the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I alternated the panels, decorating one with the largest butterfly image and the next with the next 3 largest images.
I absolutely love the way this has turned out. I’m not sure how to package it yet, I might just hand deliver it the way it is.
I’d love to hear what you think.
Bye the way, you might have noticed a new badge on my side bar – the baby card I made for my niece won the challenge at Late Night Stampers this week. How exciting!
Bye for now, Kris.

This is really lovely Kris, I presume from the colour Narelle had a little boy. What did they call him. Love Mum
