A special birthday card

April 12, 2012

I was asked by a friend to create a birthday card for her nieces 30th birthday.  The card has to be posted so it couldn’t be too bulky.  The sketch at Craft Project Central this month was just perfect for my needs.

I embossed Whisper White card stock using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder.  I punched a strip of Sahara Sand card stock along both long edges using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and attached it on top.  I wrapped Wisteria Wonder 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon around the punched strip and then added a Filigree brad with an Incolour Designer Printed Brad through the centre.  I attached this piece to scored and folded Sahara Sand card stock.  I punched Wisteria Wonder card stock four times using the Postage Stamp Punch and then attached them to a piece of Blushing Bride card stock.  I ran this through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and then attached it to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the small floral image from the Tea Shoppe stamp set onto Whisper White card three times using Stazon Jet Black ink and coloured the images using Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade Stampin’ Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  I punched the images using the 1″ Square Punch and attached them to the centre of the embossed Wisteria Wonder postage stamps using Mini Glue Dots.   I cut Wisteria Wonder with a Sizzix sizzlit die (non-Stampin’ Up!) to get my “30” and attached them to a punched 1″ square of Whisper White card stock and then to the centre of the last embossed postage stamp, this time using dimensionals.

I’d love to hear what you think of this.

Bye for now, Kris.

What a very pretty card. I like the use of the Postage Punch & the Filgree Brad. Gives it a really soft, girly look
