Memory Keeping Class

March 24, 2017

Tonight I am holding my Memory Keeping Class.  This is a kind of low key anything goes kind of class.  I create a page and everyone can make the page as is or they can take the pieces and create something else.  Some ladies make the pages and add their photos and tick off another event they have scrapbooked (or started to scrapbook) and others simply make cards using the pieces I provide or work on their own projects they bring along.  In any case, it is really all about having fun.  It gives everyone a chance to chat and share ideas and often stories relating to the photos they are working with.

This month I created my page using the Good Vibes Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Card Collection.  The floral image card is a 4″ x 6″ card and I cut it in half lengthways to get two 2″ x 6″ strips.  I punched one end of each strip using the Triple Banner Punch.  The other patterns are all 4″ x 3″ cards which I cut in half to create two 4″ x 1-1/2″ strips.  They were arranged on the page, some behind the others, the idea being that by laying them carefully in line, I could create the illusion of having one strip of paper on the page.  The photo with the Tangerine Tango card mat covers any “gaps” between the pieces to help with the illusion.  I used the 4″ x 4″ card to create a focal title.  The Layering Circles Framelits Dies were used to create the additional background decorative pieces.  The colours used are Tangerine Tango and Basic Black.  I added one of the Sending Love Embellishments to the small circle near the journalling panel.  I created the lines on the journalling panel by stamping the Writing Notes Background stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

My photos are a little busy but they do kind of carry through the Tangerine Tango colour, so I am happy with the finished page.  What do you think?

Bye for now,

Love your page Kris, especially with all the family – lovely memories. Can’t believe how the kids have grown….

Thanks Vicky. Unfortunately when I see how much the kids have grown, I start to see the years slipping by.
