Monocromatic Christmas Card

November 7, 2024

Today I am sharing a card I created after watching a video presentation on the Facebook Group – World Card Making Group – by Lauren. The card uses Misty Moonlight as the base and Lauren suggested that we sponge some Misty Moonlight ink around the edges which I did before adding a layer of Misty Moonlight card embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. I followed Lauren’s instructions to create the tree using the Frosted Forest Masks and Misty Moonlight ink for the first two layers of masking.

Lauren used Embossing Paste to add the last layer to the trees but I didn’t have any so I used Craft White ink to add the last layer. I sponged some Misty Moonlight ink around the edge of the panel. I attached a narrow strip of Silver Foil card behind the left hand side of the tree panel before attaching it to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped “merry” and “Christmas” from the Greetings of The Season stamp set onto Basic White card using Misty Moonlight ink.

I used one of the Greetings of the Season Dies to cut out the greeting. I cut around the greeting twice so that it was a close fit. The greeting is attached across the bottom of the tree. I also cut a star from Silver Foil card using the Peaceful Evergreen Dies which I attached to the top of the tree. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped another greeting from the Greetings of the Season stamp set onto Basic White card using Misty Moonlight ink. I also sponged some Misty Moonlight ink around the edges of the stamped Basic White card before I attached it inside the card base. If you are a member or you do become a member of this group you can re-watch the videos. I absolutely love the card that Lauren shared with us and I love my finished card as well. So thank you Lauren and the administrators of the World Card Making Group.

Bye for now,
