Abigail

June 30, 2018

Today’s Memory Keeping Page holds a photo of my eldest granddaughter Abigail.   I used the layout by Jacqui Crouch that I shared with you last week but created this one using the very beautiful Share What You Love Designer Series Paper.  I love that I was able to use up some smaller pieces, left over from other projects to create the page.  For contrast, I added a Basic Black panel across the bottom of the Designer Series Paper and I also used Basic Black behind the photo.  I created the title by cutting Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry and Petal Pink card using the Layering Alphabet Edgelit Dies to create “Abi”.  I stamped the letters after I had cut them using the Lined Alphabet and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the flowers in Mint Macaron ink and cut them out.  I stamped the flowers again using Rich Razzleberry ink and stamped the flower fill image using the same ink.  This time, I cut out the flowers only and attached them over the stamped Mint Macaron images.  I didn’t need to add any journalling to the photo, just the date so I will remember when it was taken.

Although I have scrapped this photo, it is also displayed on a wall in my lounge room along with all of my other grandchildren.  I love being able to see all of their beautiful faces every time I go into the room.

I’ll be back soon with another page showcasing another one of my grandchildren.

Bye for now,

Kris

Sailing

June 29, 2018

I have been having a lot of fun playing around with sponging and sponge-brayering on some cards for an upcoming technique class and was inspired to create this card.

I masked off an area on a piece of Very Vanilla card and sponged Coastal Cabana ink across the lower part of the sponging area.  I added some Bermuda Bay ink across the middle of the sponging area and lastly add some Pacific Point across the top of the sponging area.  I removed the masks and stamped “happy birthday” from the Special Celebration stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I attached the sponged panel to Coastal Cabana card and scored and folded Thick Very Vanilla card.  I stamped the sailboat image from the Lilypad Lake stamp set three times onto scrap Very Vanilla card.  I used Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the boats.  I cut out the images with the matching Lakeside Framelits Dies and attached all but one of the “double boat” images to the card front.

To decorate the inside of the card, I sponged Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point card onto the lower left hand corner.  I attached the last “double boat” image over the sponged area.

I love this card.  I love that it makes me feel like i need to rush off to the beach and sit and do nothing but watch the waves and whatever else passes by.  I’d love to know what you think.

Bye for now,

Kris

Anniversary Celebration

June 28, 2018

Last week my Mum and Dad celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary.  Quite a milestone and luckily for me both still active and in good health.  This is the card I made for them.  I cut the bottom half of Soft Sea Foam card  using the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies and also used the matching die to cut the edge of the card.  I stamped the greeting from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto the top right hand corner of the card using Highland Heather ink.  I wrapped the Soft Sea Foam card using the Gold 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon and attached it to scored and folded Very Vanilla card.  I stamped the flower from the Healing Hugs stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Highland Heather ink and cut it out.  I stamped the double leaf image from the same stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Mint Macaron ink and cut them out.  I attached the leaves behind the flower before attaching the flower to the card front.

To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the same flower onto the lower left hand corner using Highland Heather ink.  I stamped the flower onto a Post-It-Note and cut it out before covering the stamped flower.  I stamped two sets of the double leaf image around the flower before removing the Post-It-Note.

I really love this flower in the Healing Hugs stamp set.  It is so beautiful and so easy to use.

Bye for now,

Kris

Love and Sympathy

June 26, 2018

This card was inspired by one I saw on the internet and although it is nothing like the one I saw, it started me on the creative process.  Does that happen to you?  Its a good thing I think, to see someones work and then your brain starts ticking over and before you know it you have created something that is completely your own.  I embossed Whisper White card using the Layering Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Grapefruit Grove card.  I punched a long narrow strip of Grapefruit Grove card using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and attached it to one long edge of the 6″ x 6″ 2018-2020 In-Colour Designer Series Paper  The Designer Series paper is attached to the left hand side of the embossed card.   I stamped the image from the Wood Words stamp set onto Whisper White card using Grapefruit Grove ink before cutting it out using one of the squares from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  The image panel is attached to a Grapefruit Grove scalloped square cut using the Layering Squares Framelits Dies and then the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set onto Whisper White card using Grapefruit Grove ink and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch.  I attached the punched greeting to a long skinny scrap of Grapefruit Grove card and trimmed the ends to match.  The greeting is attached to the stamped panel.

To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the floral stamp from the Wood Word stamp set onto the top right hand and lower left hand corners of Whisper White card using Grapefruit Grove ink.

Simple, but really pretty don’t you think?

Bye for now,

Kris

Lacey Catalogue Case

June 25, 2018

When I was creating the card for my daughter’s birthday which I shared recently, I decided to case the catalogue to create this cute note card using the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper as well as the Delightfully Detailed Note cards and Envelopes.  This is a really simple card to create, I stamped the greeting from the Detailed With Love stamp set onto Mint Macaron card using Rich Razzleberry ink.  I slid the greeting panel through the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper before attaching the panel to the Delightfully Detailed Note Card.  Simple and so pretty.  I didn’t decorate the inside of this card but left it plain.  If you haven’t taken a look at these products in your Annual Catalogue you really should.  The Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous and so delicate and the Detailed with Love stamp set has some awesome greetings and decorative pieces that will be such fun to use.

Bye for now,

Kris

June Class

June 23, 2018

Tomorrow I am holding a Memory Keeping Class and I thought I would share with you what we are going to do.  This month instead of me creating a page and giving each attendee the supplies, I am going to show them some samples I have created using retired Designer Series Paper and I am going to let them select whatever Designer Series Paper they wish to create the layout they like the best.  I have to give credit to Jacqui Crouch for the first layout I am sharing, she shared this layout in several different forms on a facebook page to which I belong and I just loved it.  I used some of the Bubble and Fizz Designer Series paper which was available during Sale-A-Bration to create my page.  I added the circles as she described and also “happy birthday” which is cut from Early Espresso card using the Happy Birthday Thinlit Die.  I love that you can customise this page to suit your needs.  Add one or as many photos as you like.  Add a journalling piece or use one of our amazing Memories and More cards to finish your page.

The second layout is one that I found on Pinterest and had been shared by CTMH.  I loved the simple layout and decided to create this one using some retired Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I cut the paper into 3″ squares and left the top right hand corner vacant.    I cut two mats from Cherry Cobbler card for a 4″ x 6″ photo and a 3″ x 4″ photo and decorated the top right hand corner using the Star of Light stamp set and co-ordinating Starlight Thinlits Dies.  The title for my page is cut using the retired Little Letters Thinlits Dies.  I don’t know about you but even if it is retiring I keep anything that I may be able to use in my Memory Keeping.

The third page is another layout that I found on Pinterest and again it had been shared by CTMH.  Again I loved the versatility of this layout and that once again you can add as many photos or embellishments as you wish.  This time I cut 2″ strips of some retired Neutrals Designer Series Paper and attached it across the page.  I punched a piece of Smoky Slate 12″ x 12″ card using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and attached it across the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper.  I added two Early Espresso mats to hold 4″ x 6″ photos or Memories and More cards.  I decorated the lower right hand corner using the Healing Hugs stamp set.  The flower is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink in onto Whisper White card and cut out.  The leaves are also stamped onto Whisper White card using Mint Macaron ink and cut out.  I stamped the small cross background image onto the page using Highland Heather ink and attached the flower and leaves over the top.

I hope that everyone enjoys creating their own page in their own way to house some of their photo memories.

Bye for now,

Kris

Happy Birthday Emma

June 22, 2018

My daughter Emma, celebrated her birthday last weekend and today I am going to share with you the card that I made for her.   I started by cutting up one of the sheets of the absolutely gorgeous Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper. I cut a Delightfully Detailed Note Card in half and attached the Specialty Paper to the Note Card.  The piece is attached to scored and folded Blackberry Bliss card.  I stamped the greeting from the Detailed With Love stamp set onto Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut it out using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.  I attached the greeting to a Blackberry Bliss scalloped circle cut using the same dies.  The greeting panel is attached to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the flower from the Love What You Do stamp set onto Whisper White card using Mint Macaron ink and cut out the image.  I stamped the same flower onto Whisper White card this time using Blackberry Bliss ink.  I stamped the flower fill images over the top using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut out each of the flowers.  The Blackberry Bliss flowers are attached over the Mint Macaron image before being attached to the card front, using dimensionals where necessary.

To decorate the inside of the card I stamped the flower from the Love What You Do stamp set onto the lower left hand corner of Whisper White card using Mint Macaron ink.  I stamped the flower once more onto scrap Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink.  I stamped the flower fill images over the top using the same ink and cut out each of the flowers.  I attached the flowers over the stamped image on the inside of the card.

I think that this Delightfully Detailed Product Suite has so many possibilites.  I love that there are so many opportunities to co-ordinate the products together.  The Delightfully Detailed Note Cards co-ordinate beautifully with the Detailed With Love stamp set and the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper is simply amazing.  It is so delicate and you get quite a lot of options with 4 sheets which cut down to give you 6 card fronts each and lots of pieces for trimming other projects.   You also get four full sheets of gorgeous flowers and leaves which you can leave whole or you can cut it down and use smaller pieces on your projects.   Don’t forget that there is a Delightfully Detailed Memories and More Card Pack which also co-ordinates with the other amazing products in this suite.

So Happy Birthday Emma, I know you had an amazing day.

Kris

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 154

June 21, 2018

Todays’ card is created using the sketch challenge at Stamp, Ink Paper.  I embossed the top half of Very Vanilla card using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder before stamping the open leaf image from the Healing Hugs stamp set onto the lower left hand corner using Granny Apple Green.  The embossed panel is attached to scored and folded Mango Melody card.  I stamped two sets of the double leaf image from the Healing Hugs stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Granny Apple Green ink and cut them out.   I also stamped the flower from the same stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Mango Melody ink and cut it out.   I attached one set of leaves over the stamped leaves and the other set behind the flower, which is also attached to the card front.  I stamped the greeting from the Healing Hugs stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Granny Apple Green ink and attached the greeting to Mango Melody card.  The greeting is attached to the card front, partially covering the leaves and the flower image using dimensionals.

To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the small floral image three times onto the lower left hand corner of Very Vanilla card using Granny Apple Green ink.

This is a gorgeous colour combination and I love the slightly vintage look you get when you use Very Vanilla card.  I nearly always overlook Very Vanilla in favour of Whisper White but at the moment I am waiting on an order and I don’t have any Whisper White card to use, so you might see me use it a little more over the next week or so till my order comes in.

Did you notice that the beautiful flower and the double leaf in the Healing Hugs stamp set are Distinktive stamps which means that you only need one colour of ink to create shade and depth.  Remember the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set which was available during Sale-A-Bration earlier this year, well this one is the same type.  In fact there are several of these stamp sets in the catalogue, so keep an eye out for them.

Bye for now,

Kris

Inkspire Me Challenge 355

June 19, 2018

Today’s card is created using the sketch challenge at Inkspire Me.   The sketch was a very simple one and I decided that the Detailed With Love stamp set was a perfect fit.  I punched the top left and bottom right hand corners of Very Vanilla card using the Detailed Trio Punch.  To create this look, you have to punch the card twice, firstly with the detailed motif and then with the corner rounder (or the other way around, it doesn’t make a difference).   I embossed the centre of the Very Vanilla card using one of the Petal Pair Embossing Folders before attaching to scored and folded Mint Macaron card.  I attached two strips of the Love What You Do Specialty Designer Series Paper to the left of the embossing.  I stamped the greeting from the Detailed With Love stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Mint Macaron ink and cut it out using one of the scalloped ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.  The greeting is attached to the card front using dimensionals.

To decorate the inside of the card, I punched the top right hand corner of the card using the Detailed Trip Punch.  I used the Stamparatus to stamp three of the large flowers from the Detailed With Love stamp set across the bottom of the card using Mint Macaron ink.

I am loving Mint Macaron and obviously the Love What You Do Specialty Designer Series Paper.  What about you?  Have you got a new favourite colour now that we have had our colour revamp?  I actually think the new combinations show some of our old favourites in a new and positive light as well, don’t you?

Bye for now,

Kris

Copper Blooms

June 18, 2018

Once more this card has been created using the Accented Blooms stamp set and the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder (I think I could become obsessed with this folder).  This time, I stamped the large floral image from the Accented Blooms stamp set onto Whisper White card using Versamark ink.  I sprinkled the image with Copper Embossing Powder and Heat set it.   The Whisper White card, has been trimmed on an angle just above the embossed image.   I punched a narrow strip of Merry Merlot card using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  The punched piece is attached behind the Whisper White card before it was attached to Copper Foil card which is embossed using the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder I wrapped the top of the Whisper White card using Whisper White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon and tied a knot.  The whole piece is attached to Merry Merlot card and then scored and folded Thick Whisper White card.  I stamped “congratulations” from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set onto Whisper White card using Versamark.  I sprinkled the image with Copper Embossing powder and heat set it.  The greeting is punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch before attaching to the card front.

To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped another of the greetings from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set using Versamark ink, sprinkled it with Copper Embossing Powder and Heat set it.  The stamped Whisper White card is attached to Merry Merlot card.

The finished card is not quite how I imagined it in the beginning but I think so far of the three I have shared it is my favourite.  What about you, which one do you like?

Bye for now,

Kris
