Happy Birthday Jae
My granddaughter Jae celebrates her 6th birthday today. You realise how old you are getting when you see your grandchildren growing up so quickly.
I love making co-ordinated gifts for my family and friends, especially my grandchildren because they get quite excited to see what Nan has created. Bless them!
Anyway, Jae is like many youngsters her age and absolutely adores the movie Frozen. I think she and her sister know every word to every song in the movie. I wanted to create a card for her with a Frozen them and used my favourite medium to find this adorable Curvy Keepsake Box on Pinterest. Suzanne very kindly shared how she created her “Olaf” and I followed her directions to create my box. We gave Jae some earrings and this was the perfect presentation box. Thanks Suzanne.
I decided to follow her idea and create a card with a punch art Olaf as well. My background is created by stamping the “tree decoration” dots from the Festival of Trees stamp set using Versamark ink onto Whisper White card. I embossed with White embossing powder and then sponged the whole area using Lost Lagoon ink. I think it kind of looks like falling snow – maybe!! The body of this Olaf is a 2-1/2″ Circle of Whisper White, the rest is as per Suzanne’s instructions.
Inside the card, I created a mask and added more “snow”, leaving plenty of room for my message. The tag is punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch1. Again I masked the bottom of the tag and added some “snow”. I wrapped Jae’s other present in the brown paper that Stampin’ Up! kindly supplies me with in every order. I wrapped the parcel with Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin Ribbon and tied a knot. I fed the tails of the ribbon through the tag from the back and pulled them tight. This keeps my tag in place and adds a little more embellishment.
I’m pleased to say that the gifts and packaging met with complete approval from Jae and all the children. Thank Goodness!

Hello December
Can you believe how close Christmas is getting, not only are the shops (and the children) counting it down in weeks, but in days! I’m not really organised, and haven’t even started thinking about presents. However, I did make a start on my December Daily Memory Keeping Album (after all one has to get the priorities right!). The Hello December Project Life Card Collection and matching Accessory Pack are perfect for creating this type of album. The idea is that you document something from every day in December. Now that sounds like a big deal but think of all the events that happen in December. For me there are lot’s of end of year concerts and performances by my Grandchildren and then there is the tree decorating and the Christmas crafting. Of course there is also the present wrapping and the Christmas baking too. Not everything has to be about Christmas, there are always lots of things happening in our lives and it will be fun to see how much happens over the month.
I purchased the 6″ x 8″ Cherry Product Life Album from the Holiday Supplement and two sets of Variety Pack 6″ x 8″ Project Life Photo Pocket Pages. I am going to the use the Hello December Card Collection and Accessory Pack to document my December. I also have a few stamp sets which I think will be useful to complete this album – 25 Days, Project Life Remember This and Project Life Holiday Cheer.
This should be a fun album to look back on when my grandchildren get older. Our Christmas will be busy this year as my sister, niece and her husband are going to be visiting from Western Australia to celebrate with us.
Anyway, I have created the first page which I don’t anticipate will have any photographs, but I can always change my mind. I have also gone through my pocket pages and added in a few of the cards from the Hello December Card Collection to make it easier to document the days. Of course, because they are only slipped into the pockets I can certainly change my mind and re-arrange, according to when certain things happen. So, from time to time I will share the new pages I create for this album, but you will have to wait till December.
I have never created this type of album before but I am loving that the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! products are making it much easier for me to keep up with my Memory Keeping.

Memory Keeping Fun
Just wanted to say thank you to those ladies (and a couple of gorgeous kids) that attended my Memory Keeping night last night. We had a blast getting together and getting some memory keeping done. I had created a 12″ x 12″ page that we completed together and which we can use to add a photo from either a Christmas past or maybe even this year. The fun thing about Project Life by Stampin’ Up! is that most of the Card Collections are available as Digital Downloads for My Digital Studio, so I was able to print out the cards so that everyone could make the same page. Such fun.
The cards are all part of the Seasonal Snapshot Digital Project Life Cards – Digital Download which is the same as the Seasonal Snapshot Project Life Card Collection that can be found in your Holiday Catalogue,. I also used the Season of Style Pocket Cards -Digital Download to create the saying and the Wishing You Stamp Brush Set – Digital Downlaod to create the present. Adding colour to the images is so easy in My Digital Studio. The banner is created by cutting up two of the Seasonal Snapshot Digital Project Life 4″ x 6″ cards and creating the tails. The card stock colours are taken from the colours used in the collection with the exception of the Early Expresso which I think tones in nicely with the colours used. The background of our page uses the Stars Decorative Mask. We sponged on Sahara Sand ink to create a starry background for our page.
I look forward to getting together again to get our photos off the phone or computer and for me, out of boxes and onto pages and into pockects so that they can be enjoyed by everyone.

Holiday Supplement – Available Now
I’ve been a little quiet this week, as I have been laid up with a sore foot, but couldn’t miss out on some crafting yesterday because my pre-order from the Holiday Supplement arrived.
Stampin’ Up! has released this very mini catalogue with some exclusive Christmas crafting products. My first creation is the very largest star from the Many Merry Stars Simply Created Kit. When I say large, I mean large, this star is around 15″ wide. It was easy to put together because the pieces are all pre-cut for you. I had to push out the die-cut stars and then attach the side strips – can you believe it, they already have the adhesive on them – yay! It didn’t take long to attach them and then all of the additional pieces are die cut as well.
I simply cased the star on the front of the Holiday Supplement to create mine. This kit contains enough product to complete 26 stars, only one of the largest star, but 5 each of the remaining 5 sizes. You get beautiful wooden snowflakes in three sizes, silver sequins, gold small stars, gold accents and words, six bows, tags, flags and more. These is also lots of Gold Baker’s Twine, so you can add bows to your embellishments. Can you tell, I love this kit.
My ladies are going to be making a few of these stars in different sizes in our Christmas Decoration Class in November. They could easily be adapted to hang on your tree, they would look so cute, especially the smaller ones.
The catalogue also contains four stamp sets, one which matches our Star Framelit Dies and one especially designed to go with the Project Life Hello December Card Collection and Accessory Pack also in the Holiday Suppplement. There is a fabulous Simply Created Watercolour Winter Simply Created Card Kit too.
There is one big catch to this Supplement and that is everything is only available WHILE STOCKS LAST, so do not delay, if you want anything from this catalogue then you need to order it sooner, rather than later.

Starry Birthday Card
Well here I am again, sharing a card I made after being inspired by one on Pinterest. The three cards were shared by Darlene McCallum and I absolutely loved them.
I punched a strip of Whisper White card using the Confetti Stars Punch and attached it to Early Expresso card. I scored and folded a piece of Crumb Cake card (14.8cm x 10.5cm, scored in half on the 10.5cm length) and attached the punched card piece. I cut Crumb Cake card using the fourth smallest Star Framelit Die and attached it to the back of the scored card. I cut three stars from Marina Mist card using the three smallest Star Framelit Dies. They are stacked on top of each other using dimensionals and then attached to the card front so that they nest on top of the Crumb Cake star. I attached one of the small Whisper White stars punched with the Confetti Stars Punch to the centre. I stamped the greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set onto Whisper White card using Early Expresso ink and punched it out using the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch. I attached it to 1-3/8″ circle of Early Expresso card and then the card front.
Inside I stamped the greeting from the Pictogram Punches stamp set using Early Expresso ink. I punched a star from Marina Mist card using the Heart Punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch and attach over the stamped star. It is a little tricky to open the card but there is plenty of room to add a personal message.
I love this card and as Darlene suggests it would make a great name place card for a special occasion as well.

A Christmas Case
I found this gorgeous card on Pinterest by Kreative Kristie and new that I could make it with current Stampin’ Up! product. This is Kristie’s card.
I stamped the same Hardwood Background stamp on Pear Pizzazz card using Garden Green ink. I attached it to Whisper White card and wrapped the join with Pear Pizzazz 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon. I wrapped Whisper White Baker’s Twine over the Cotton Ribbon and tied on one of the All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments.
I attached the Whisper White card to scored and folded Pear Pizzazz card. I used “noel” from the Wonderous Wreath Framelit Dies to cut Pear Pizzazz card and attached it to the card front.
Inside the card I stamped Pear Pizzazz card with the Hardwood Background using Garden Green ink, attached it to Whisper White card and wrapped it with the Pear Pizzazz 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon. After I attached the panel to the inside of the card, I cut Brushed Silver card using the two smallest Star Framelit Dies – one inside the other – to create two stars. I attached these to the inside of the card and added another small star punched using the Star Punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
I love this card and am so grateful to Kristie for the inspiration. What do you think? Isn’t it Gorgeous?

Ornamental Stars
I decided to have a play with the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and the Star Framelit Dies to create some ornaments for my Christmas Tree this year. I cut Brushed Gold card with the largest Star Framelit and the second smallest Star Framelit. I stamped the large star onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut them out using the matching framelit. I also stamped the smallest star onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out using the matching framelit. I stacked one stamped star onto the largest Brushed Gold star using dimensionals. I kept the dimensionals to the centre of the star shape, so that they wouldn’t show to easily. The for second stamped star, I cut a small hole in the centre, scored and folded the star and then glued the centre back together using a Hot Glue Gun. I attached this star to the other stars using a couple of dimensionals in the centre and Glue dots between the points of the star.
I attached the smaller Brushed Gold star to the centre, this time I used Hot Glue to hold it in place and lastly attached the smallest stamped star. I repeated the same steps to make another star. I attached a folded length of Baked Brown Sugar thick Baker’s Twine to the centre of the back of one of the stars using Hot Glue. To keep the Twine in place and also to make sure that the points of the two stars met, I used Glue Dots on the points of the two large Brushed Gold stars. I tied a knot in the Baker’s Twine to create a nice loop to hang the ornament from my tree.
I created the smaller star ornament by stamping the medium star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and using smaller framelits to cut the Brushed Gold card.
I think I might add some Basic Rhinestones to the centre of the small stars just to add a little Christmas bling.
They look rather pretty if I do say so myself. I think that I will be making more of these with my Grandchildren to decorate our tree this year.

Simply Christmas
I was inspired to make this card after seeing a similar one on Pinterest by Creative Crafts by Lynn. The card on Pinterest didn’t use Stampin’ Up! products but I knew that I could use the Festival of Trees stamp set to make a similar card.
I embossed two pieces of Whisper White card and attached a strip of Real Red card punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The card pieces are attached to scored and folded Whisper White card so that the Real Red card forms a frame for the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set which is stamped using Garden Green ink. 
I stamped the tree from the Festival of Trees stamp set onto Whisper White card using Garden Green ink and punched it out using the matching Tree Punch. I attached the tree to the card front using dimensionals. I punched Red Glimmer Paper using the Star Punch from the Iitty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and attached it to the top of the tree using a Glue Dot. The decorations are made by punching the three dots on the Cupcake Builder Punch from Red Glimmer Paper.
On the inside I used the Confetti Stars Punch across the top of a piece of Whisper White card before attaching it to Real Red card. I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs using Garden Green ink before attaching the panel to the inside of the card.
Simple, but I think it is gorgeous, how about you?

MDS Monday Challenge 84
The challenge this week at MDS Monday was to create a page using the sketch and a vintage photo.
I have lots of vintage photos that my mother-in-law kept. This one is of my husband’s Grandfather, taken when he was around 17 or 18 (early 1900’s).
The Pear Pizzazz designer series paper comes from the Family History Photobook Template – Digital Download. I also used First Edition Designer Series Paper – Digital Download. The “splashes” are from the Extreme Elements Stamp Brush Set – Digital Download and I have changed the opacity so that they are quite light, hopefully it helps create a feeling of aged paper. The ornate pieces at the top and bottom of the photo are from the Frames with a Flourish Stamp Brush set – Digital Download. They are coloured Early Expresso to match the frame around the photo. The smaller frames with the text come from the Family History Photobook Template – Digital Download.
I hope you all love My Digital Studio as much as I do and that is inspires you to create something to preserve your family history.
