Ornamental Stars
I decided to have a play with the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and the Star Framelit Dies to create some ornaments for my Christmas Tree this year. I cut Brushed Gold card with the largest Star Framelit and the second smallest Star Framelit. I stamped the large star onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut them out using the matching framelit. I also stamped the smallest star onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out using the matching framelit. I stacked one stamped star onto the largest Brushed Gold star using dimensionals. I kept the dimensionals to the centre of the star shape, so that they wouldn’t show to easily. The for second stamped star, I cut a small hole in the centre, scored and folded the star and then glued the centre back together using a Hot Glue Gun. I attached this star to the other stars using a couple of dimensionals in the centre and Glue dots between the points of the star.
I attached the smaller Brushed Gold star to the centre, this time I used Hot Glue to hold it in place and lastly attached the smallest stamped star. I repeated the same steps to make another star. I attached a folded length of Baked Brown Sugar thick Baker’s Twine to the centre of the back of one of the stars using Hot Glue. To keep the Twine in place and also to make sure that the points of the two stars met, I used Glue Dots on the points of the two large Brushed Gold stars. I tied a knot in the Baker’s Twine to create a nice loop to hang the ornament from my tree.
I created the smaller star ornament by stamping the medium star from the Bright and Beautiful stamp set and using smaller framelits to cut the Brushed Gold card.
I think I might add some Basic Rhinestones to the centre of the small stars just to add a little Christmas bling.
They look rather pretty if I do say so myself. I think that I will be making more of these with my Grandchildren to decorate our tree this year.

Simply Christmas
I was inspired to make this card after seeing a similar one on Pinterest by Creative Crafts by Lynn. The card on Pinterest didn’t use Stampin’ Up! products but I knew that I could use the Festival of Trees stamp set to make a similar card.
I embossed two pieces of Whisper White card and attached a strip of Real Red card punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The card pieces are attached to scored and folded Whisper White card so that the Real Red card forms a frame for the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set which is stamped using Garden Green ink. 
I stamped the tree from the Festival of Trees stamp set onto Whisper White card using Garden Green ink and punched it out using the matching Tree Punch. I attached the tree to the card front using dimensionals. I punched Red Glimmer Paper using the Star Punch from the Iitty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and attached it to the top of the tree using a Glue Dot. The decorations are made by punching the three dots on the Cupcake Builder Punch from Red Glimmer Paper.
On the inside I used the Confetti Stars Punch across the top of a piece of Whisper White card before attaching it to Real Red card. I stamped the greeting from Petite Pairs using Garden Green ink before attaching the panel to the inside of the card.
Simple, but I think it is gorgeous, how about you?

MDS Monday Challenge 84
The challenge this week at MDS Monday was to create a page using the sketch and a vintage photo.
I have lots of vintage photos that my mother-in-law kept. This one is of my husband’s Grandfather, taken when he was around 17 or 18 (early 1900’s).
The Pear Pizzazz designer series paper comes from the Family History Photobook Template – Digital Download. I also used First Edition Designer Series Paper – Digital Download. The “splashes” are from the Extreme Elements Stamp Brush Set – Digital Download and I have changed the opacity so that they are quite light, hopefully it helps create a feeling of aged paper. The ornate pieces at the top and bottom of the photo are from the Frames with a Flourish Stamp Brush set – Digital Download. They are coloured Early Expresso to match the frame around the photo. The smaller frames with the text come from the Family History Photobook Template – Digital Download.

Good Greetings
The sketch challenge at Maryjo’s Technostamper Blog gave me the opportunity to showcase another stamp from the Good Greetings stamp set. You can get this stamp set free until the end of the month with a qualifying order. Just check out the details on the promotions page (you need to scroll to the bottom).
I attached strips of four of the five Washi Tapes from the All is Calm Designer Washi Tape collection across Whisper White card. My plan was to stamp the greeting along the top of the Washi Tape and keep it a simple one layer card. 
However, as it usually does, things went a little wrong, so I cut the Washi Tape piece and attached it to Pear Pizzazz card, then to Whisper White card. I stamped the greeting from the Good Greetings stamp set using Pear Pizzazz ink across the top of the Washi Tape panel and tied the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon below the Washi Tape panel.
I attached the Whisper White panel to Brushed Silver card and then scored and folded Lost Lagoon card.
I ran strips of the Washi Tape across a scrap piece of Whisper White card and punched it using the Tree punch. I attached the Washi Tape tree to Whisper White card, Brushed Silver card and then to the inside of the card.
This card is so simple but so effective! I’d love to hear what you think.

Moonlight and Wetlands
Along with MaryJo’s sketch challenges I love the sketches that the design team at Freshly Made Sketches put together and I do try to play along as often as possible.
I embossed Whisper White card with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Blackberry Bliss card. I added a strip of designer series paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack to the left hand side.
I inked the goose from the Wetlands stamp set using Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped onto Whisper White card which I cut using the Circle Framelits Dies. I attached the image to a circle of Soft Sky card and then the card front using dimensionals. Lastly I tied a bow in a length of Blackberry Bliss 1/2″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and attached it to the top of the image panel using a Glue Dot.
The Soft Sky card is actually a square which is punched using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and then cut using a Circle Framelit Die, to leave the scallop tag topper shape in place.
Inside I stamped the reed image from the Wetlands stamp set onto Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink. I embossed Whisper White card as before, added a strip of Blackberry Bliss card and attached it over the bottom of the stamped image.
Since this card turned out so pretty, we will be making it in one of my upcoming classes at the Retirement Village.

Get Your Santa On
Once again I have had time to play along with MaryJo’s Technostamper Sketch Challenge.
It took me a little while to get started, but once I decided to use Get Your Santa On, it came together very quickly.
I embossed Whisper White card using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Real Red card. I cut a piece of Garden Green card and attached it behind a piece of Real Red card which I embossed using the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder. I attached them to the left hand side of the card front. Next I embossed Crumb Cake card, again using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder and attached it across the bottom of the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the image from Get Your Santa On onto Whisper White card using Stazon Jet Black ink. I coloured the image using Real Red and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I coloured in all the white pieces with my Two Way Glue Pen and added Dazzling Diamonds. He looks ever so sparkly!
I attached the image panel to Garden Green card and then to the card front using dimensionals under the top section only so that it would sit on the Crumb Cake card. Next I stamped the little joy banner from the Get Your Santa On stamp set onto Whisper White card using Garden Green ink and punched the stars out using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. They are attached to the card front using Glue Dots.
Inside I stamped Merry Christmas from the Sassy Salutations stamp set onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink. I embossed a strip of Crumb Cake card using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, attached it to Garden Green card and the the bottom of the stamped Whisper White card.
I resisted buying the Get Your Santa On stamp set when the Holiday Catalogue was first released but I have seen so many gorgeous projects using it I just couldn’t resist any longer. The stamp set is photopolymer which makes it more affordable and certainly easier to see where you are stamping. Look forward to more creations using this great set.
I think this is a fun card and suitable for anyone young (or young at heart) you may know. Who would you give this card to?

Starry Noel
I have had the Confetti Stars Punch since the Holiday Catalogue was released but so far hadn’t used it. I was inspired to give it a try after seeing these gorgeous cards and tags by Jennifer Arent on Pinterest.
I punched the top of Real Red card using the Confetti Stars Punch and attached it to Brushed Gold Card. I cut the word “Noel” from Brushed Gold Card using the Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies and attached it to the Real Red card just below the stars.
I attach my words using Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive which can be a little messy, so you need to be careful and only use the smallest dot of glue along the back of the letters. I attached Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon to the back of each side of the Brushed Gold Card and tied it in a bow on the front. The whole piece is attached to scored and folded Real Red card.
Inside I punched Real Red card once again using the Confetti Stars Punch, attached it to Brushed Gold card and then Whisper White card.
I tried this in another colour but my husband and I (he is my biggest fan and greatest critic) decided that the Real Red was the best combination.
Hope this inspires some of you to try this fantastic punch.

Special Birthday cards
I made a couple of birthday cards recently which I cased from Pinterest. I love the cards but I can’t seem to connect to the site to find out who made them, but thank you, whomever you are.
I decided to make mine in two different colours as well as I needed two cards. The first is Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Whisper White and the second is Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Whisper White. I used the Stippled Blossom, Papillon Potpourri and Wetlands(greeting) stamp sets.
The Whisper White card is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and attached to the base card. The frame for the sentiment is of course cut using the Oval Framelit Dies. I hand cut the flowers and the leaves and they are attached to the card front using Glue Dots. The butterflies are attached with a piece of dimensional under the wings so that they will stay lifted up.
On the inside I stamped the large flower, covered it with a mask and then stamped the small flowers. I covered the small flowers with masks before stamping the large and small leaves.
I absolutely adore both cards, what about you, which one is your favourite.

Freshly Made Flowers
This sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is simply fantastic and if the sketch doesn’t get you going, check out the design team samples – all amazing.
Anyway, it certainly inspired me to give it a go. I embossed Pink Pirouette card using the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Chocolate Chip card. I cut thin strips of Chocolate Chip Designer Paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack, attached them to Chocolate Chip card and then the card front. I stamped the flower from the Bloom With Hope stamp set onto Whisper White card using Stazon Jet Black ink.
The flowers are coloured using Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers. I stamped the greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set onto the lower right hand corner of the image panel using Chocolate Chip ink. The image panel is attached to Chocolate Chip card and then the card front using dimensionals.
Inside I stamped and coloured the images and added a strip of Designer Series Paper and Chocolate Chip card.
I love this card so much we are going to make it at one of my classes at Beachmere Retirement Resort. I think this would look absolutely stunning if you used the Wisteria Wonder Blendibilites and Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp and colour the flowers.
