Sunny Challenges Week 34
We have a new guest designer joining us at Sunny Challenges and Creations this week – Tess Schirmer. Tess is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator who lives near Bribie Island, practically next door to me. I hope that you will visit Tess’ blog and let her know what you think of her lovely work.
I have set the challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations this week. I have provided a sketch and you can do with it what you wish. Use any stampset, colours or techniques that you wish. You may create a card, scrapbook page or 3D item as long as you use the sketch.
I cut a piece of Bashful Blue Designer Series Paper from the Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks and sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I also sponged the edges of a piece of Bashful Blue card stock, wrapped it with Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon and tied a knot. 
I attached the Bashful Blue card stock to the back of the Designer paper and then to the front of scored and folded Whisper White card stock. I stamped the duck image from the Easy Events stampset onto Whisper White card stock using Stazon Jet Black ink. I also stamped the duck image onto Daffodil Delight and Bashful Blue card stock. I cut the ducks body from the Daffodil Delight card stock and the umbrella, hat and water from the Bashful Blue card stock. I attached the pieces over the image stamped onto Whisper White card stock and used one of the Framelits Dies Labels Collection to cut it out. I cut another Framelit a size larger from Chocolate Chip card stock and attached the image panel to it. 
The whole image panel is attached to the card front using dimensionals.

Happy Birthday Ava
My youngest granddaughter Ava turns two today. I cannot believe how quickly she is growing up. Anyway I thought I would share the card and the gift bag that I made for her.
I punched a narrow strip of Basic Gray card stock using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and attached it behind Rose Red Designer Series Paper. This piece was then attached to scored and folded Pretty in Pink card stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and attached it to Basic Gray card stock. This piece is attached to the card front using dimensionals. My punch art bear is one that I cased from the Queen of Punch Art (in my humble opinion) – Kim Score. I did change a couple of things because I didn’t have the right punches. I made my party hat using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch – I used Rose Red card stock and the plain pennant and attached a strip of Whisper White card stock to the bottom which I punched using the Scalloped Pennant and then trimmed. 
I also used the smallest heart on the Heart to Heart Punch and cut it in half to make the eyes and then added the smallest circle from the Owl Builder Punch. I also used Sahara Sand card stock instead of Going Gray because it is retired and I don’t have any on hand. So I sponged the edges of the Sahara Sand card stock using Basic Gray so that it blended in better.
My gift bag is one that I purchased from Spotlight. I used all the same colours and papers – I just left the happy birthday off the punched bear. I used the 1-3/4″ Circle punch for the balloons and added the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch to create the end of the balloon. I wrapped the end of the balloon with Whisper White Bakers Twine and attached it behind the bear’s “hand”. I used the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet to make the “Happy Birthday and also to add the number 2 to the balloons.

A Technique Challenge
A challenge was posted on Sudsol this week to try the Acrylic Block Stamping Technique. This is one that I have seen used with such fantastic effects, so of course I had to join the challenge.
I scored and folded Sahara Sand card stock and stamped on the front using the En Francaise Background Stamp and Sahara Sand ink. I also sponged around the edges using the same ink. I attached a piece of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper to Poppy Parade card stock and attached it to the right hand side of the card front. I inked one side of an ‘E’ sized Clear Block using Sahara Sand ink and stamped it onto Very Vanilla card. The idea is that you get the rectangle shape in a rather haphazard way. I stamped the flower image from the Charming stampset using Not Quite Navy ink over the top of the Sahara Sand ink. I attached the image panel to Not Quite Navy card stock and attached it to the card front using dimensionals.
This is a very simple technique, so if you haven’t tried it then I suggest that you do so. I’d love to know what you think.

An Easter Basket
I want to share with you a cute little basket that I designed using the new Framelits Dies Labels Collection and the Box #2 Die.

Wet Watercolouring
I created a large sheet of background paper when preparing for a recent Technique Class and had quite a bit left over. So when I saw the challenge at Stamping 411 this week, I decided to use one of the pieces.
To create the background paper I sprayed Confetti Cream card stock with water and then stamped on the wet paper. I used the images from the French Foliage stamp set and More Mustard, Old Olive and Bravo Burgundy inks. When you stamp onto the wet paper the images bleed and take on a soft dreamy look. You do have to be a little patient because you need to wait for this piece to dry before proceeding with your card. I attached the stamped piece to More Mustard card stock and then to scored and folded Confetti Cream card stock. I stamped “thinking of you” from the Three Little Words stamp set onto Confetti Cream card stock using Bravo Burgundy ink and punched it out using the Decorative Label punch. I punched another Decorative Label from Bravo Burgundy card stock and attached it behind the greeting. I trimmed the greeting piece so that I could attach it to the lower left hand side of the card front below the image panel. I wrapped the whole card front using Old Olive 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and tied a knot.

Sunny Challenge 33
The challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations for this week has been set by Libby. She provided us with a sketch and all we had to do was add distressing – inking, sanding, tearing etc.
I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. I sponged Early Expresso ink all over the pattern and along the edges of the card stock to give an aged appearance. Then I used my distressing tool in the Cutter Kit on the edges. 
This created a few tears on the edges just for added interest, then I scrunched the card stock a little to get some more dimension and sponged a little more Early Expresso ink over the creases. I cut a strip of Well Worn Designer Series Paper and embossed it using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Then I used my sanding block on the raised edges to take some of the pattern off the designer paper. I punched Early Expresso card stock using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, attached the sanded designer paper and then attached the whole piece to the Very Vanilla card stock. 
I used my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack to the holes to insert the Early Expresso Brads. I attached the Very Vanilla card stock to scored and folded Early Expresso card stock.
I really am not sure whether I like this one or not, what do you think?

A Lattice Card
I have wanted to make a lattice card for quite some time and when I saw the new Framelits Labels Dies I knew I had to finally give it a try.
I cut Whisper White card stock using one of the larger Framelits Labels Collection Dies and then cut 5mm wide strips of Whisper White card stock to make the lattice strips. Once I had attached all of the strips behind the frame, I attached a piece of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper behind the opening. Then I attached the whole piece to a layer of Pool Party card stock and lastly to scored and folded Poppy Parade card stock. I stamped the large flower from the Vintage Vogue stampset onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Poppy Parade ink and cut it out. 
I stamped the small flower from the Vintage Vogue stampset onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Poppy Parade ink twice and twice more, stamping off onto scrap paper first. I cut these four flowers out as well. I cut Lucky Limeade card stock using the Little Leaves Sizzlit and arranged them around the bottom left hand side of the lattice frame. I attached the flowers over the leaves and added Basic Rhinestones to the centres.
For my first attempt at this style of card, I am pretty happy. What do you think?
A couple of things to note, the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper will not be available after the 31st March when Sale-A-Bration ends. The Summer Mini catalogue also ends on the 31st March. Soooo… if you haven’t placed your qualifying order to get your hands on this absolutely gorgeous Designer Series Paper, then you need to hurry. I would hate for you to miss out, because once Sale-A-Bration is finished, none of the products in that catalogue will ever be seen again. With the end of the Summer Mini we will no longer be able to purchase any the Simply Adorned range either, so if you love these gorgeous Charms and Baubles, then you also need to get your order in before the end of March. There will also be other products in this catalogue which do not make next years Idea Book and Catalogue, so if you want them, you need to order them now.
However, on a more positive note, the Framelits Labels Collection Dies become available on the 1st April, along with some other absolutely gorgeous products, including Edgelits Dies and matching embossing folders. Sound exciting, well it is. So while I am always sad to see the end of one catalogue, it is very exciting to see the beginning of another.

My New Display Board
I have needed a small display board that is light and portable for a long time and finally got around to making one. I bought a canvas from one of the $2.00 shops and covered it with the Twitterpated Designer Fabric which is being released on the 1st April in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. The fabric is really pretty and pink, very girly. Along with this gorgeous fabric we are also getting some beautiful pleated 3/8″ Satin Ribbon. The ribbon comes in four colours – Pear Pizzazz, Ridinghood Red, Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze – which match the colours in the fabric. So I used this ribbon to decorate the board as well.
I used various other ribbons available in the Idea Book and Catalogue to tie bows onto the intersections of the Satin Ribbon. I also covered some buttons with some of the Twitterpated Designer Fabric and also the Timeless Portrait Fabric. I attached these to the Satin Ribbon intersections using Whisper Whtie Bakers Twine. I also used Whiser White Bakers Twine to add a few other buttons at various intersections. I bought some mini wooden clothes pegs and decorated them using the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper so that I could add cards to the board.
I also attached a couple of flowers that I had previously made from the Timesless Portrait Fabric.
I think it turned out lovely and now I have a great way to show off lots of product as well as a few projects. What do you think?

Beachmere Classes
Yesterday I had my first class a a Retirement Resort at Beachmere. I spent a lovely morning with Cindy, Meg, Sandra and Josie (I think I got all the names right). Since it was my first class with these ladies and I wasn’t sure how many ladies would be there, I decided to make the same card but step it up a little each time.
Our first card was a single layer card. We used the flower image from the Upsy Daisy stamp set and the greeting of their choice from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.
Our second card stepped it up a little by punching the greeting and added the Scalloped Oval behind the punched greeting.
On our third card we stamped the image onto a separate piece of Whisper White card stock and added a mat of Poppy Parade. The greeting was again stamped and punched out and added using dimensionals.
We had a lovely time learning to use the stamp-a-ma-jig and getting lots of ink on ourselves. I am looking forward to seeing these ladies every week for at least the next 3 weeks.

Sunny Challenge 32
Its the beginning of another challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations and this week our sketch comes to us from Vicky. As well as using the sketch we are to use Designer Series Paper.
I couldn’t help myself and again reached for the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper when making this card. I attached a layer of Very Vanilla card stock to scored and folded Soft Suede card stock. I punched a strip of Soft Suede card stock using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, attached it behind a piece of Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper and then to the card front. I attached two different patterns from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper to Soft Suede. I stamped the stem from Field Flowers stamp set onto Very Vanilla card stock using Lucky Limeade ink. 
The small flower was stamped onto the image panel using Calypso Coral ink. I did stamp the small solid flower onto scrap paper first to give a lighter impression. The image panel was also attached to Soft Suede card stock. I attached the image panel to the two designer series panels and then wrapped with Lucky Limeade 1/8″ Organdy Ribbon. I added an Everyday Enchantment Printed Designer Brad over the ribbon and then this whole piece was attached to the card front. I stamped the large solid flower onto scrap Very Vanilla card stock, making sure that the solid image was stamped onto scrap paper first to give a lighter impression. I image was cut out and attached to the image panel using SNAIL. I cut Poppy Parade card stock using the Beautiful Butterflies Embosslit and attached one of the butterflies to the card front using dimensionals under the wings and a Mini Glue Dot in the centre of the body.
I truly love how easily you can create a gorgeous card using different pieces of designer paper from the same pack.
