Scrap Page Make & Take
The stamp set we received as part of our registration for Regional Training was Under the Big Top. This is not a stampset which I would normally be drawn to buy. Firstly you have to colour it and you all know how much I love that. Secondly I thought that it would be fairly limiting in its use. However, I think it looks fantastic in this cute 6 x 6″ scrap page. I couldn’t resist adding a photo of my granddaughter Jae celebrating her latest birthday.
I love all the attention to detail in this page, the line of bunting across the top right hand corner and the flags. The colours are bright and cheerful and I thought the M & M’s on Jae’s birthday cake matched the colours perfectly. It was a fun page to make and although there were a lot of parts to the page it came together fairly quickly.
Not my usual style but I really like it.
Bye for now, Kris.

Brisbane Regionals
I attended the Stampin’ Up!Brisbane Regional Training Session on Saturday. What an amazing day. Stampin’ Up! certainly gave us a lot to think about. We had business training and some fabulous training in techniques and workshop WOW’s. My companions for the day were Gwen, Vicky, Shirley and Tess. What a great time we had. Of course one of the best parts is swapping creations with the other demonstrations. Today I am going to share with you the gorgeous ones I received from my companions – in no particular order.
These first two are from Gwen. Don’t you just love this cute little Christmas Tree Ornament in it’s milk carton package.

The next two gorgeous creations are from Vicky. Gwen and I have been working with Vicky at Sunny Challenges & Creations for a while now but Saturday was the first time we actually met. It was fantastic to actually catch up in person.

Next swap is from my lovely downline Shirley. She always makes the most amazing 3D creations and this one is no exception. I love how gorgeous this pack of gum has become.

Last but certainly not least is this gorgeous business card hold by Tess which uses some of the Flirtatious Fabric from the current Idea Book and Catalogue. I need to fill this with my cards and pop it into my purse. You can never have enough business cards on hand.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these. Tomorrow I will show you some more of the beautiful swaps I received at Regional Training.
Bye for now, Kris
Scallop Octogon Box & Card
Isn’t this a fabulous looking gift set. This is the second project for November at Craft Project Central and was designed by the fabulous Kim Score. A visit to Kim’s blog is something you are going to want to keep on doing. Don’t forget to leave her a comment and let her know how gorgeous her work is.
If you would like the instructions to make this beautiful gift set, then visit Craft Project Central and sign up for the November session. I think it is fabulous value at $10.00 for 10 tutorials.
Bye for now, Kris.
SC 015/11
Here we are again at the beginning of another challenge week at Sunny Challenges and Creations. I can’t believe it is 15 weeks since Vicky, Gwen and I started this challenge blog. Every week we are amazed, not only by all of your fabulous creations but by the fact that the 3 of us come up with so many different ideas based on the same sketch. I’m sure this week will be no exception. Our challenge this week is to use this great sketch by Gwen and also to use the Emboss Resist Technique.
I started with a base card of More Mustard and added a layer of Whisper White which has been embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I stamped the images from the French Foliage stampset onto Whisper White card using Versamark ink, sprinkled on White Embossing powder which I heat set. I sponged over the embossed images with Daffodil Delight ink, then Pumpkin Pie ink and then lastly with Old Olive Ink. I attached each of the embossed pieces to Old Olive card and attached them to the card front. I stamped “happy birthday wishes” from the Petite Pairs stampset onto Whisper White card stock using Old Olive ink. I punched the greeting out with the Large Oval Punch and attached it to a Daffodil Delight Scallop Oval. I attached the image piece to the card front using dimensionals.
I have always been drawn to this stampset but finally gave in and bought it after seeing some gorgeous projects using it – now I wonder why I waited so long.
Bye for now, Kris.
Happy Birthday Jason
Today is my son-in-law’s birthday. Jason is a mad keen Ford racing car fan which is one of the reasons that I bought the Need for Speed stampset.
I started with a base card of Night of Navy and added a layer of Whisper White card which has been embossed using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I embossed another piece of Whisper White card using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, added a layer of Marina Mist card stock which has the bottom edge punched using the Scallop Border Punch and then attached it to the card front. I stamped the “racing car” image from the Need for Speed stampset onto Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink, attached it to a layer of Night of Navy card stock and then to the card front using dimensionals.
I inked “happy birthday” from the On Your Birthday stampset using a Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker (because I didn’t want to ink the dots and the exclamation mark). I punched the greeting out using the Word Window Punch and attached it to a Night of Navy Modern Label. The greeting is attached to the card front using dimensionals.
This is a very simple card but I love the way it has turned out and hope that Jason does too.
Bye for now, Kris.
Creating Pretty Cards 5
I created this card for this month’s sketch challenge at Craft Project Central. I love how this challenge runs for the whole month and that you can enter as many times as you wish. You do need to be a member for the month to be able to participate and you get the chance to be in the draw for a free subscription to the month of your choice. EDITED – I have just been informed that you do not need to be a subscriber to enter the monthly challenges – YAY.
I stamped the 3 snowflake images from the Snow Swirled stampset onto Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink. I wrapped the Whisper White card stock with Night of Navy 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon and attached it to a scored and folded Night of Navy card. I stamped “joy at Christmas” from the Perfect Punches stampset onto Whisper White card using Night of Navy ink and punched it out using the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I layered the greeting onto a 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle from Brushed Silver card stock and attached it to the card front over the ribbon using dimensionals.
This is a really simple card and I am not sure that I really like it. however, I am on the way out the door to attend my nieces wedding, so it will have to do.
Bye for now, Kris.
2012 Mini CD Calendar
Well here is the first project for November at Craft Project Central. This great Mini CD Calendar tutorial was created by Sonia Oshyro. At this time of year we are always looking for small gifts for friends or as stocking fillers for family. This is one gift that no-one will want to throw away. Be sure to visit Sonia and see all her fabulous work and of course let her know how much you love it.
Remember if you want to know how to make this fabulous gift then you need to join the November session at Craft Project Central. I really cannot believe that it only cost $10.00 for 10 step by step photo tutorials.
Bye for now, Kris.
Triple Treat
I made this card using the sketch challenge at Clean and Simple for this week. The sketches at this site are always really beautiful but I don’t always get time to play along.
I embossed Whisper White card stock using the Stripes Embossing Folder (can you tell I love this folder) and attached it to folded and scored Basic Black card stock. I attached a piece of Real Red Designer Paper from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack to Basic Black card stock and then to the card front. I stamped “just for you” from the Just Believe stampset onto Whisper White card using Stazon Black ink, attached it to Basic Black card stock and then to the card front. I stamped the Triple Treat Flower onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink twice and once using Stazon Black ink.
I punched one Real Red image using the Fancy Flower punch and one using the 1/2″ circle punch. I punched the Stazon Black image using the 5 Petal Flower Punch. I attached the layers of the flower using dimensionals and then attached the flower to the card front.
I love how this card has turned, so much so that I think this will be one of my swaps for the Brisbane Regionals next week.
Bye for now, Kris.
