Flower Fest
I couldn’t resist using my newest stamp set when I saw the sketch at Stamping 411 this week.
I ran a piece of Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot using the Stripe Embossing Folder, wrapped it with Pretty in Pink 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and tied a knot. I attached the Whisper White card stock to a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock and then to a scored and folded Whisper White card base. I stamped the largest flower from the Flower Fest stampset onto Perfect Plum card using Perfect Plum ink 4 times.
I used my 2 3/8″ scallop circle punch to punch out one full image. I cut smaller layers from each of the other 3 stamped images. I attached the layers on top of each other using dimensionals. I stamped the large leaf image onto Certainly Celery card using Certainly Celery ink and cut out each image. I attached the leaves and the flower to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.
I wasn’t too impressed by this stampset when I first saw it in the catalogue but its possibilities have grown on me and I am so happy I finally have it.
I’d love to hear what you think.
Bye for now, kris.

A Dinosaur Challenge
I created this card for the month challenge at Craft Project Central. The fantastic thing is that the challenge runs for the whole month but there are weekly prizes and the chance to go in the draw to win one month’s free subscription to the month of your choice – Woohoo – love free stuff.
I started with a base card of Whisper White. I embossed a strip of Daffodil Delight card stock using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I ran the stripes along the length of the cardstock. I wrapped this piece with Early Expresso 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon and tied a knot and then attached it to the card front. I embossed a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock using the Houndstooth Embossing Folder added it to a piece of Early Expresso card stock which has the top and bottom edges punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I slipped this piece underneath the ribbon and attached it to the card front. I stamped the image from the Dinoroar stampset using Early Expresso ink onto Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using my Circle Scissors. I cut a 2cm strip of Early Expresso cardstock down the length of the A4 sheet and punched one long edge using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I snipped the unpunched edges, added adhesive to the back of the circle and attached the punched border to create a frame for the image. I then embossed this whole piece using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and attached it to the card front over the ribbon using Mini Glue Dots.
I did take a little liberty with the sketch by changing the orientation but I love the way it turned out. A great children’s card to have in my stash.
I’d love to hear what you think.
Bye for now, Kris.

SC 014/11
This weeks sketch at Sunny Challenges and Creations is from me. I want you to use the sketch and the colour combination, Melon mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.
I embossed the top half of a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I embossed a strip of Tempting Turquoise card stock using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I cut a scallop trim from Daffodil Delight card stock using the Tasteful Trim Die. I attached the Daffodil Delight scallop border behind the Tempting Turquoise cardstock. I wrapped this piece with Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and tied a knot. This piece was then attached to the Whisper White embossed cardstock and then attached to the scored and folded Melon Mambo card. I stamped the car image from the Need for Speed stampset onto Whisper White card using Melon Mambo ink. I stamped “spoil yourself today” from the Bring on the Cake stampset below the car using Tempting Turquoise ink. I added a mat of Melon Mambo cardstock to the image panel and attached it to the left hand side of the card front using dimensionals.
I wanted this to be a card for a girl in her late teens. Did it work? Let me know what you think.
Now for more inspiration pop over and visit Gwen and Vicky and then when you are ready visit Sunny Challenges and Creations and add your card to Mr. Linky. As always, I look forward to seeing your creations.
Bye for now, Kris.
Birthday Packaging
Well today is my granddaughter Jae’s third birthday. She is very excited about turning three. I already shared with you the card that I made for her but thought you might like to see the packaging for her gift.
I bought my White gift bag at Spotlight (if you live outside Australia think Michaels). I stamped the animals onto scrap Whisper White card stock using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Early Expresso ink and cut them out. I attached them to a piece of Whisper White card making sure that my monkey was “hanging” from the top. I stamped “happy birthday dear you” from the Happiest Birthday Wishes stampset onto the Whisper White card using Early Expresso Ink.
I attached the image panel to a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and set it aside. I punched one long edge of a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Eyelet Edge Punch and then embossed this piece across its width using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I wrapped the Whisper White embossed card stock with Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and then attached the whole piece to a mat of Early Expresso card stock, which was then attached to the front of my store bought bag. I attached the image panel using dimensionals and also tied a bow using the Pumpkin Pie 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and attached it to the bag front using Mini Glue Dots.
I don’t routinely decorate the inside of my card – I leave that until I am ready to give the card to someone. For this card I used my computer to generate my greeting onto Whisper White card. I embossed a strip of Whisper White card using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I cut out another monkey which was stamped onto scrap Whisper White card using Early Expresso ink. I “hung” the monkey from the Whisper White embossed card, attached it to a piece of Early Expresso card stock and then attached it to a piece of Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack. This piece was then attached to the bottom of the Whisper White panel with my greeting and added to the inside of the card.
You can see that it doesn’t take much to personalise the inside of your greeting card. I’m sure she will love this cute little monkey.
I am looking forward to spending some fun time with her tomorrow to celebrate this milestone in her young life.
Bye for now, Kris.
Finally…………
I haven’t had much time lately to play with all the gorgeous tutorials I have been collecting but I decided to try my hand at this fantastic tutorial by Sharon Burkert which is part of the October tutorials at Craft Project Central.
The tutorial uses the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Kit from the current Idea Book and Catalogue. The kit comes complete with 8 printed and embossed die cut cards, 16 self-adhsive tags 8 each of the two colours in the kit as well as matching White envelopes. Sharon created a very clever box and folio which holds the cards and a few extra embellishments to give to someone as a “ready to go” card kit. She has teamed the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance set with some beautiful butterflies, Basic pearls, Basic Rhinestones and the beautiful Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon to create a really gorgeous gift. If you would like the instructions then simply sign up for the October session at Craft Project Central.
I love how this has turned out and think I know someone who would love it.
Bye for now, Kris.
Vintage Technostamper
This is my creation for the Technostamper challenge this week. I had forgotten how lovely Vintage Vogue is to work with until I used it recently. This sketch gave me another opportunity to use it.
I started with Basic Black card stock and added a layer of Very Vanilla. I added strips of the First Edition Specialty Designer paper (first time I used it and it is gorgeous). I stamped the large flower from the Vintage Vogue stampset onto Very Vanilla card stock using Real Red ink. I covered it with a post-it note mask and stamped the vine image over and arround the flower using old Olive Ink. I stamped the small flower from the onto Very Vanilla card using Real Red ink which I first stamped onto scrap paper so that the colour would be a little lighter and then cut the image out. I attached the small flower over the large flower using snail and pierced a hold using my Paper Piercer and Mat Pack. I inserted a Basic Black Brad from the Basics Glimmer Brads.
Unfortunately you can’t really see the glimmer in my photo but trust me it is there in real life. I attached the Very Vanilla card stock to a piece of Basic Black card stock which has been punched along the lower edge using the Eyelet Edge Punch. This piece is attached to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped “thinking of you” from the Three Little Words stampset onto Very Vanilla card using Old Olive ink and punched it out using the Word Window Punch. I attached the greeting to a Basic Black Modern Label and then attached it to the card front.
I think this is a really pretty card and I know just who I am going to send it to.
Bye for now, Kris.

A Christmas SC 013/11
Here is another card I made using the Sketch at Sunny Challenges and Creations for this week.
I used Always Artichoke card stock for my base card and added a layer of Sahara Sand which has been embossed using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. I embossed a piece of Whisper White card stock using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and attached it to Rich Razzleberry card stock. This piece is attached to the card front using dimensionals so that it sits inside the embossed frame.
I stamped the image from the Easy Events stampset onto Whisper White card using Black Stazon ink. I coloured the image using my Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke Stampin’ Write Markers. I punched the image using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, sponged the edges with Always Artichoke ink and added it to an Always Artichoke 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle. I attached the image panel to the card front using Mini Glue Dots. I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the Easy Events stampset onto Whisper white card using Always Artichoke ink. I punched the image using the narrow end of the Decorative Label punch and then re-inserted it into the punch so that you get this cute little frame. I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink and then attached it to the card front using dimensionals.
I hope you are going to play along this week at Sunny Challenges and Creations, there is still plenty of time.
Bye for now, Kris.
