Array of Sunshine
Here is a card I made for the colour challenge at Inkspiration 4U online. The colours were River Rock, Ridinghood Red and Chocolate Chip.
I took my layout from the sketch challenge at Sudsol this week. I used River Rock for my base Card and added a layer of Ridinghood Red. I stamped the large flower from Array of Sunshine (new Hostess Set) 3 times onto Whisper White card using Ridinghood Red ink. I cut each of the sections of the flower out and layered them using dimensionals to give the flower height. I used my paper piercer to pierce a hole through the centre of the flower and added a Chocolate Chip 5/16″ Jumbo Brad. I stamped the large leaf image onto Whisper White card twice using River Rock ink and cut them out. I attached a strip of Chocolate Chip card which has been punched along one long edge using the Scallop Trim Border Punch to a piece of Whisper White card. I stamped ‘thinking of you” from the Sincere Salutations stampset using Chocolate Chip ink and then attached this piece to the Ridinghood Red card.. I arranged the leaves and flowers onto the card front.
I love this set it has 3 different flowers and 2 of them can be cut in layers, which gives great dimension to simple stamping.
I’d love to hear what you think.
Bye for now, Kris.

Field Flowers Tag
I have been inspired to create some tags by CherylAnn. She has been sharing some fabulous tags lately and I thought I would give it a try.
I created this for an Open House I held last weekend. I wanted to create something that gave everyone a chance to see some of the new In-colours and to touch some of the new product in the newly released Idea Book and Catalogue.
I ran some Calypso Coral card through the Big Shot using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I punched a strip of Wisteria Wonder card using the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and attached it behind the top of the Embossed card. This piece was attached to the lower edge of the Whisper White tag. I stamped the stem image from the Field Flowers stampset using Lucky Limeade onto the tag. The flowers were stamped using Wisteria Wonder ink. The flower is a tw0-step flower and so I stamped off once before stamping the base image and then used the same ink with the second image. This gives a lighter and deeper impression of the same colour. I stamped the words from the same stampset using Wisteria Wonder ink. Lastly I punched a 1 3/8″ circle from Calypso Coral card and folded it in half and attached it to the top of the tag. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole and then threaded some Wisteria Wonder 3/8″ ruffled ribbon through the hole.
A simple tag but I think it turned out pretty and I could use it either on a gift bag, card front or scrap page. I have to say that I absolutely love this flower.
The second tag uses the Creative Elements stampset. I stamped the large floral swirly image onto the Whisper White tag using River Rock ink and sponged the edges with the same ink. I stamped the floral border image down the left hand side of the tag using Marina Mist ink. I stamped the frame image onto Whisper White card using Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped “happiness” from the Fabulous Phrases stampset using the same ink. The image was then cut out and attached to the tag. I stamped the butterfly image from the Creative Elements stampset onto Whisper White card using Marina Mist ink and cut it out. I attached the butterfly to the tag using dimensionals under the wings and a glue dot in the centre to give it some dimension. I stamped the flower image from the Creative Elements stampset onto Whisper White ink using Cherry Cobbler ink four times. I cut the full flower out once and the other three times cut smaller and smaller sections of the flower. I attached each layer on top of each other using dimensionals and then attached it to the tag using Mini Glue dots. I punched a 1 3/4″ circle from Cherry Cobbler card, folded it in half and attached it to the top of the tag. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole and then threaded Whisper White 5/8″ Organza ribbon through.
Here you can see the dimension in the flower and the butterfly. I love this set. It has lots of different “elements” to create endless projects. I look forward to using it again and again.
I’d love to hear what you think.

Sunny Challenges & Creations 07/11
We have another great sketch this week at Sunny Challenges and Creations. This one has been provided by Gwen and she doesn’t want us to use any stamping, except for the greeting.
I thought that this would be a little hard but eventually decided to use flowers as the focal points of interest.
I scored and folded a piece of Elegant Eggplant card for my base and set it aside. I embossed a piece of Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, wrapped it with Certainly Celery 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and tied a knot. To create my flower panels I cut Elegant Eggplant using the smallest scallop on the Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die. I punched 1 3/8″ Squares from Whisper White card. I used the Floral Fusion sizzlit to cut flowers from Perfect Plum card. I cut one extra large flower for each floral panel. I punched leaves from Certainly Celery card using the Two Step Bird punch.
I attached two leaves to two of the large flowers and four leaves to the last flower and then attached them to the 1 3/8″ Whisper White Squares. They were then embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and attached to the Elegant Eggplant Scallop Squares. I used my bone folder to curl the other flowers until I could separate each one into two layers. The individual flowers were scrunched up tightly, opened and stacked onto a small Clear Rhinestone brad and then attached over the flower on the Whisper White 1 3/8″ square using Mini Glue Dots. I arranged the panels so that the panel which had four leaves attached was in the middle and the other two were in the top left and bottom right corners. I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Create-A-Cupcake stampset onto Whisper White card using Perfect Plum ink and punched the greeting using the Word Window Punch. I cut a piece of Certainly Celery card 1/2″ wide and rounded the ends using the 1/2″ circle punch and added it behind the greeting and then attached it to the front of the card. The whole Whisper White panel was then attached to the folded Elegant Eggplant card.
Now you have seen my card, pop on over to Gwen & Vicky’s blogs to see their inspiration cards for this week. Once you have made your card for the challenge visit Sunny Challenges and Creations and add your creation (card, scrapbook page or even 3D item) to Mr. Linky.
I am really looking forward to seeing some gorgeous work this week.

Cupcake Birthday
Here is another card I created for this week’s challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations. I started with Whisper White card and used the Candle Crazy Builder Wheel and Pacific Point ink along the bottom of the front of the card. I ran a piece of Whisper White card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and added a mat of Rich Razzleberry. I stamped “wish big” from the Pennant Parade stampset using Rich Razzleberry ink and punched it out using the 1″ circle punch. I attached the greeting to a Rich Razzleberry 1 1/4″ circle, 1 3/8″ Circle of Daffodil Delight and a 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle of Pacific Point. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole on either side of the greeting and threaded Daffodil Delight 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon through the holes and attached it to the back of the Rich Razzeleberry card (greeting is popped up on dimensionals). The whole piece is then added to the front of the card. I stamped the cupcake images from the Create-A-Cupcake stampset using Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight and punched them out using the Build a Cupcake Punch. The heart is the smallest punch on the Heart to Heart Punch and is cut from Pacific Point card. Once the cupcake was assembled I attached it to the card front using dimensionals.
Another great sketch and challenge this week. Thanks Vicky.

Stampin’ Up! Fabric
An exciting new product which has been added to the Stampin’ Up! range with the release of the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalogue is fabric.
I used a free on-line pattern which can be found here and the gorgeous Timeless Portrait fabric to create this bag. The fabric comes packed really neatly in a box – 3 fat quarters to each pack. I used two of the fabrics to create the bag and added the “red” fabric to the flowers for effect. I also used some addtional black fabric to make the lining and I purchased the handles. I actually increased the size of the pattern piece to get a larger bag.
I didn’t take any photos but inside I have two pockets which I made using the same pattern. It is so cute and I just love it.
Along with the fabric the catalogue also has Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll and I used this to iron two pieces of fabric together so that it was double sided to create my flower decoration.
I used the Flower Folds Bigz XL die to create the first decoration for my bag. I used some of the black fabric I used for the lining as well. I cut a piece of the Big Shot Adhesive from the roll and ironed it onto the wrong side of the fabric, then trimmed around the adhesive, removed the backing paper and ironed it to the wrong side of another piece of fabric so that I had double sided material to run through the big shot.
I went through the same procedure and cut flowers using the new Fun Flowers Bigz Large die as well. Once I had all my pieces cut I layered them one on top of the other and topped each flower with a button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons. I pushed my Paper Piercer through the holds in the buttons and all the layers of the flowers and then used a needle and Linen Thread to attach the buttons to the flowers and at the same time I attached a brooch pin onto the back. I sewed through all the layers several times to make it strong and then tied the linen thread in the front of the button and trimmed it off. Now I can change my flower and give my bag a different look each time. I have another pattern that I found on the web that I want to try out and will post it when I have it made.
I kept all of the little bits and pieces that were left over because I just know I am going to find lots of places on my cards and scrapbook pages to use this fabric. There are 5 different designs in the fabric that are available and they are all gorgeous. The material is 68.6 x 45.7cm and I believe is just slightly larger than the normal fat quater you can buy.
I’d love to hear what you think about this fabulous new product Stampin’ Up! has included in the current catalogue.
Bye for now, Kris.

A Word Play Wedding
This is another card I made for this week’s challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations.
I wheeled a piece of Whisper White card using the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and Basic Black ink and added a Basic Black cardstock mat. I stamped “happy I do day” from the Word Play stampset onto Whisper White card using Basic Black ink. I punched the greeting using the Extra Large Oval and then punched two more Extra Large Ovals from Real Red card and attached them behind the greeting. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole on either side of the greeting and then thread Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon through the holes and attached it to the back of the wheeled piece. The greeting is popped up on dimensionals. This piece was then attached to a scored and folded Whisper White card. I used the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit to create a Basic Black (groom) and Real Red (bride) heart.
I punched two Full Hearts from Whisper White card and then embossed them in the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit. I attached the Whisper White Full Hearts to the Real Red and Basic Black Scalloped Hearts. I made a “tie” from Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and a small Clear Rhinestone Brad. I attached the tie to the Basic Black heart using a Mini Glue Dot and then attached the black heart to the card front. I pierced three holes in the Real Red heart and added three small Rhinestone Brads. I attached the Red Heart over the Black Heart using dimensionals.
I really like this version of the heart “bride” and “groom”. If you haven’t already played along with this challenge, there is still time.
Bye for now, Kris.
A Christmas Sketch
I created this card using the sketch challenge 3 at Craft Project Central. I found it a little tricky in the beginning but in the end I think it came together rather nicely.
I embossed a piece of Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I stamped the greeting from the Word Play stampset onto Whisper White card using Chocolate Chip ink. I attached a narrow strip of Chocolate Chip card behind a piece of Real Red Designer Paper from the Brights Designer Paper Patterns Stack and then attached it to the Whisper White card below the greeting. This piece was then matted on a piece of Real Red card and then attached to the right hand side of the front of the embossed Whisper White card. I wrapped a piece of Chocolate Chip 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon around the Whisper White piece.
I stamped the images from the Tree Trimmings stampset onto Whisper White card, two using Chocolate Chip ink and one using Real Red ink and then cut the images out. I attached linen thread behind the images. added dimensionals and then attached them to the front of the card making sure that the thread was attached behind the card. The whole piece was then attached to a folded and scored Real Red card.
I love this card and would probably make more of the same layout, perhaps using different colours.
I’d love to hear what you think?
Bye for now, Kris.
