A Simple Christmas Card
I created this card using the sketch for the weekly challenge at Sudsol and decided to go with very clean lines.
I embossed Whisper White card using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and wrapped it with Old Olive 5/8″ Satin Ribbon. This was then attached to a scored and folded Real Red base card. I stamped the flower from the Season of Joy stampset onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink twice and cut them both out. I stamped the flower once onto Whisper White card using Old Olive ink and cut the flower out. I trimmed the Old Olive flower so that only 3 petals were left and attached them behind the two Real Red flowers. I attached them to the card front on the right hand side on top of the ribbon. I stamped “merry christmas” from the Easy Events stampset onto Whisper White card using Real Red ink and punched it out using the Decorative Label Punch, except I lined the greeting up in the narrow part of the punch.
I punched an additional Decorative Label from Real Red card and attached it behind the Whisper White Decorative Label. I attached the greeting to the left hand side of the card underneath the ribbon and trimming the Decorative Label so that it wouldn’t poke out from the other side. I made an elegant bow from the Old Olive 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and attached it on top of the ribbon and underneath the greeting using Mini Glue Dots. Lastly I added a large Basic Rhinestone to the centre of the flower.
This is such a simple card but I think it has lots of impact. All attendees at my next class will be making this card because I love it so much.

A Quick Bookmark
For my recent Open House, I wanted to make something to give to each of the attendees to take home.
I cut 8″ lengths of the now retired Early Expresso 1 1/4″ Striped Grosgrain ribbon and attached flowers to create bookmarks.
My flowers were made in the new in-colours, the one to the left is Calypso Coral. I cut one large and one small flower using the Island Floral Die and punched one Fancy Flower from each colour. I used my bone folder to curl and separate each flower into two. I scrunched the flowers up really small and then opened them and stacked them on a Clear Rhinestone brad making sure that I staggered the petals. I then scrunched them up again around the brad and opened them out to get really beautiful flowers.
The brad actually goes through the flower and into the ribbon, so that I didn’t have to rely on glue to keep them together.
They looked so pretty in all the new in-colours. These are such a fun and quick gift idea and so useful, even if they only mark your place in the new catalogue.

Truckin’ Birthday
I decided to create another card for this weeks challenge at Sunny Challenges and Creations. I broke out a cute little set that took my eye when I first saw it in the new catalogue – I Dig You. I have two grandsons who are mad about all things that play in the dirt so this set was a must have for me.
You will remember that for this challenge we had a sketch and also a colour combination – Marina Mist, Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake.
I used Marina Mist scored and folded for my base card and attached a layer of Crumb Cake which I embossed using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I added a layer of Cajun Craze card which has been embossed using the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. 
I stamped the truck image in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla and then again on scrap Very Vanilla in Marina Mist. I cut out the back of the truck in Marina Mist and attached it over the Crumb Cake one. I punched two Basic Black 1″ circles and attached them over the Crumb Cake wheels. I inked the “present” image using Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and Cajun Craze markers, stamped onto Very Vanilla card, cut them out and attached them onto the top of the truck. I pierced a hole in each Basic Black circle and added a Silver 5/16″ Jumbo Brad. I attached the image panel to a layer of Marina Mist card and attached it to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped “happy birthday” from the On Your Birthday stampset using Cajun Craze ink onto Very Vanilla card and punched it out using the Word Window Punch. I attached it to a Cajun Craze Modern Label and attached it to the card front using dimensionals.

Array meets Calypso Coral
I really love the new Hostess Set Array of Sunshine so I was happy to be able to use it again this time for two challenges in one. Firstly the In-Colour Challenge at Late Night Stampers and the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.
I kept this card really simple to go with the sketch. I stamped the large flower from the Array of Sunshine stampset three times onto Whisper White card using Calypso Coral ink and cut a different section out of each one – one full flower, one two-section flower and lastly the central flower. I layered the flowers on top of each using dimensionals. I stamped the large leaf image twice onto Whisper White card using Lucky Limeade ink and cut them out. I attached a piece of Whisper White card onto a layer of Lucky Limeade card and then onto a folded and scored Whisper White base card. I arranged the leaves onto the card front and attached the flower over the top of the leaves.
I just love the dimension that you can achieve with this gorgeous flower. So simple and yet so stunning.
Aren’t the new in-colours this year fantastic – I love them. This gorgeous Calypso Coral is such a pretty pink/coral colour and the Lucky Limeade is really bright but has great depth of colour.

Sketch Challenge 008/11
Well it’s time for another challenge over at Sunny Challenges and Creations and this week it was my turn to provide the sketch.
Its pretty simple and you can make the focal image any shape you wish, however you must use this colour combination – Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and Cajun Craze. The colour combination is straight off the Colour Coach, so I know they will work together.
I started with a base card of Cajun Craze and then added a Whisper White layer which I had stamped using 3 of the images from the Extreme Elements stampset and Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and Cajun Craze ink. I added a layer of Cajun Craze card and – wait for it – it has no embossing or stamping (must be a first for me). I stamped the largest image from the Exteme Elements stampset onto Whisper White card using Crumb Cake ink and then stamped the racing car image from the Need for Speed stampset using Cajun Craze ink. I attached the image panel to a piece of Marina Mist card and then added it to the card front using dimensionals. Lastly I stamped “Imagine the possibilities” from the Word Play stampset using Cajun Craze ink.

Pin Cushion & Card Gift Set

New In-Colours
This week Late Night Stampers challenge is to use two of the new in-colours on your project and I chose the fabulous Wisteria Wonder (one of my favourites) and Lucky Limeade. Don’t you just love the names Stampin’ Up! uses for its colours.
I used Wisteria Wonder card for base and added a layer of Whisper White which I embossed down the right hand side using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. To do this I passed the folder through the Big Shot from one side until I could no longer see the folder, backed it out of the Big Shot and this left a section on the left hand side which was not embossed. I covered the card which was not embossed with a piece of Lucky Limeade card which I ran through the Big Shot using the newly released Stripes Embossing Folder. I inked up the large floral image from the Just Believe stampset using Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped onto Whisper White card (don’t forget to huff – I just love that technical name).
I added a mat of Wisteria Wonder and attached the whole piece to the card front using dimensionals. I love using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and especially love that you can use it to only partially emboss or to create different sized frames for your images. The new Stripes Embossing Folder is sure to be a favourite when making Male cards – something I do struggle with, however, it looks equally at home here on this very feminine card.

Holloween Luminaria & Candy Container
Isn’t this the most fantastic Halloween project. It was designed by Laurie Zoellmer and is the last project released by Craft Project Central for the month of September. I’m sure we could all find great places to use this when Halloween rolls around. You could change the decoration and make a really gorgeous Christmas themed Luminaria and Candy Container. Triple Treat Flower
I love the A La Carte stamps in the new Idea Book and Catalogue and the sketch at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday gave me the perfect opportunity to try out the Triple Treat Flower stamp.
I embossed the left hand side of a piece of Early Expresso cardstock using the Stripes Embossing Folder. I embossed the Pear Pizzazz card, one piece with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the other with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder and attached them to the Early Expresso card. I wrapped a piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Organza ribbon around the whole piece and attached it to scored and folded Blushing Bride Card. I stamped the Triple Treat Flower onto Whisper White card using Regal Rose ink twice and Blushing Bride ink once. I punched one Regal Rose image out completely using the Fancy Flower Punch and I punched the centre from the other Regal Rose flower using the 1/2″ circle punch. I used the 5 Petal Flower Punch to punch that section of the stamp from the Blushing Bride image. The images were layered on top of each other with dimensionals between the layers. I punched a 5 Petal Flower from Pear Pizzazz card, cut out 2 of the petals and attached them to the back of the flower. The whole flower was then attached to the card front, again using dimensionals.
Unfortunately, even in the close up it is hard to see the detail in the Blushing Bride 5 Petal Flower, but you can see the dimension of the embossing folders and how perfectly the shapes fit inside each other on this beautiful stamp.
This card again has clean and simple lines but I think it is kind of cute. What do you think?
