A Merry Memory Keeping page
Today’s page uses a sketch challenge from a facebook group I belong to – Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up!. This group is open to anyone, Demonstrator or non-demonstrator. The quality of the inspiration shared by the members of this group is fabulous. I didn’t join the blog hop but the sketch allowed me to finish documenting the photos from Christmas Day. I cut down a Whisper White 12″ x 12″ page and added a strip of Real Red card punched using the Decorative Ribbon Border Trim to each side before attaching to the centre of another 12″ x 12″ Whisper White page. The Designer Series Paper used is Under the Mistletoe which is available from the Annual Catalogue. The stamped hearts are stamped in Real Red using an image from the Forever Lovely stamp set.
This is one of the stamp sets in the current Occasions Catalogue. The “merry” is cut from Real Red card using the Merry Christmas to All Thinlits Dies which is a carry-over item from the Holiday Catalogue. The smaller title pieces are punched using the Classic Label Punch. The “playtime” was created on my computer and printed onto Whisper White card. The date is stamped using the image from the Tabs for Everything stamp set. The ribbon on this page is the Real Red 3/8″ Mixed Satin Ribbon (now retired). I love this photo which shows my grandchildren playing with their cousin Jack who is the youngest and of course the centre of attention.
If you are looking for some more inspiration for your memory keeping, I really suggest you join this group. You will be amazed at the beautiful work being shared from all around the world. Thanks to the admin team at Scrapbook Global for a great challenge.

Lovely Lattice Birthday
My friend Sandra celebrated her birthday recently and I thought I would share the card I made for her. I used the largest of the ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies to cut a window in Very Vanilla card. I embossed the card using the Layering Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder. I stamped the image from the Lovely Lattice stamp set onto Vellum card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I flipped the image over and coloured it from the back using the Dark Rich Razzleberry, Dark Old Olive, Light Daffodil Delight and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.
Once coloured I cut out the image and attached it to a piece of Very Vanilla card. I attached the embossed Very Vanilla card over the top so you could see the stamped image. The whole piece is attached to scored and folded Rich Razzleberry card.
I stamped the floral image once more onto Vellum card and coloured it as before. This time I cut out certain sections of the image which I attached to the card front using dimensionals. You can see the dimensionals through the Vellum but not so that it spoils the look. Lastly, I added some Basic Rhinestones to the centres of the flowers.
To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the floral image once more onto Vellum and coloured the large flower and leaves, which I cut out and attached to the lower left hand corner of Very Vanilla card.
The Lovely Lattice stamp set is one of the stamp sets that you can earn for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration. So don’t forget to place your order, there are so many gorgeous products available for free and there will be a few more free products released on the 15th February too!
Hope you had a fabulous birthday Sandra.

Bloom by Bloom
Recently I shared with you a set of cards using a 6″ x 6″ One Sheet Wonder and the Incredible Like You stamp set. Well today I am sharing another set of cards using this same One Sheet Wonder and the Bloom by Bloom stamp set. I cut a 6″ x 6″ piece of Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper using the cutting instructions. Cut a 10cm strip down the length of the 6″ paper. Take the 10cm strip and rotate it 90 degrees and cut at 10cm. Cut the 10cm square on the diagonal. The strip left after the first cut needs to be trimmed down to 14.3cm. I embossed Whisper White card using the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder.
I attached the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper pieces to embossed card and wrapped the edge of the designer series paper with the Silver 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon. The embossed panels are attached to scored and folded Lovely Lipstick card. I stamped the large leaf and stem image from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set onto Whisper White card using Call Me Clover ink.
I stamped the large flower onto the stem using Lovely Lipstick ink. I cut out the flowers using the largest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and attached them to Lovely Lipstick card cut using the largest scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies. The flowers are attached to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped four of the greetings from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set onto Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed one end of the banner using the Triple Banner Punch. The greetings are attached to Lovely Lipstick card trimmed to match, and then the card fronts using dimensionals.
The inside of each card is decorated in the same manner. I stamped the small leaf and stem image from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set onto the lower left hand corner using Call Me Clover ink. The small flower is stamped onto the stem image using Lovely Lipstick ink.
I am lovely creating sets of cards in this way. I think I am going to create a few more and then box them up to give as gifts. What do you think? It’s also a great way to use up my Designer Series paper and not leave it sitting in the cupboard because it is too pretty to cut!

Happy Birthday Sarah
My eldest daughter Sarah is celebrating her birthday today, so I thought you might like to see the card I made for her. I created this card whilst I was “playing” with the Needle and Thread stamp set and co-ordinating Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies for the first time. I stamped the stitched filigree image onto the top of Whisper White card using Smoky Slate ink. I stamped the large flower once onto Whisper White card using Merry Merlot ink which I had stamped off first, and cut it out using the co-ordinating Needlepoint Elements Framelits Die. I stamped the small flower onto Whisper White card using Merry Merlot ink and cut it out using the co-ordinating die.
I stamped the stitched leaf image onto Whisper White card using Mossy Meadow ink and cut it out using the co-ordinating Needlepont Elements Framelits Die. I cut Mossy Meadow card three times using the leaf die from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies. I attached the large flower onto the stitched leaf image and attached the open leaves to the back of these pieces. I attached the whole piece to Whisper White card.
The panel is attached to Smoky Slate card and then the stamped Whisper White card. I attached the small flower to the centre of the large flower using a dimensional. I added a medium Clear Glimmer Dot to the centre of the flower. I stamped “happiest of birthday to you” from the Needle and Thread stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink before attaching the whole panel to scored and folded Smoky Slate card.
To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the leaf image from the Needle and Thread stamp set onto the lower left hand corner of Whisper White card using Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped the three small flower image onto Whisper White card using Merry Merlot ink and cut them out using the co-ordinating Needlepoint Elements Framelits Die (you stamp the three flowers together and cut them out with the one die to give three individual flowers). I attached one of the flowers over the ends of the stamped leaves.
This is a really lovely stamp set which I know I am going to love using. It has many, many possibilities, I just need to have more time to “play”.

Freshly Made Sketches 370
I must admit that the sketch layouts at Freshly Made usually suit me to a “T”, and this week is no exception. For my card today, I attached a piece of the Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to Basic Black card and then scored and folded Thick Whisper White card. I cut the three cogs from Whisper White card twice using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies and attached them to the top left and lower right hand corners of the Designer Series paper.
I stamped the car from the Geared Up Garage stamp set onto Whisper White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set below the car image using the same ink and cut them both out using one of the ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.
I coloured the car using an Aqua Painter and Tranquil Tide ink and then the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend. The image is attached to a Basic Black scalloped oval cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. I attached the image panel to the card front using dimensionals.
To decorate the inside of the card, I cut the three cogs from Basic Black card using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies and attached the image to the lower left hand corner.
This is a pretty simple card, but one that I think would appeal to most men. My husband loved the colour. I’d love to hear what you think.

Handmade
By Ethan……. Today’s page shares photos of some stools and a coffee table that my 12-1/2 year old grandson designed and built. He made three stools, two for himself and one for Dave who teaches both Ethan and my husband to play the guitar. He gifted the coffee table to my husband, which is for the music room we are going to create in our back bedroom. I thought that it was fantastic that he created these by himself and therefore just had to preserve the memory. I stamped the Sheet Music background stamp onto the top right and bottom left hand corner of Basic Black 12″ x 12″ card (unfortunately no longer available for purchase) using Versamark ink.
I sprinkled the image with Silver Embossing powder and heat set it. I attached the photos to the page and added a journaling block. I created the journaling on my computer and printed it onto Very Vanilla card. To decorate the journaling block, I tore the bottom of a post-it-note and used it to mask the journaling on the Very Vanilla card.
I stamped the Sheet Music background stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then before removing the mask, I used a sponge and Cajun Craze ink to sponge over the stamped image. I stamped the guitar from the Country Livin’ stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends to add some colour. I cut out the guitar and attached it to the journaling panel. The title is cut from Cajun Craze card using the retired Little Letters Thinlits Dies.
I love how this page turned out and I know that it will always remind me of the joy Ethan’s creations brought to Ron and to Dave.

Kris

Needle and Thread three ways
Today I have three cards to share with you. I am trying to stamp in styles that will suite every kind of stamper, simple or beginner stamper, casual stamper and avid stamper. It is a little hard to really simplify your stamping when you have a lot of supplies on hand, however, once you get the hang of it you begin to appreciate how lovely a simple card can be. The stamp set I am using today is Needle and Thread and the images are truly beautiful. As with all distinktive stamps, you will get a better image with less ink rather than more.
So if you ink pad is really juicy and leaves bubbles on your image, use a spoon to push the ink back into the pad so that you get a better impression.
So the first card, is for a simple stamper and I have once more used a note card for this project. Note cards come as a set of 20 with pre-scored cards and envelopes, which makes it easy to get creating straight away.
I stamped the flower using Merry Merlot ink and then stamped the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. This is a photopolymer stamp set and therefore easy to line the images up. I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set below the flower using Mossy Meadow ink. The envelope is decorated with the flower and leaves using the same inks.
The second card is for the casual stamper and this time after stamping the image (using Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow inks), I cut it out using one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies. I attached the image panel to a rectangle of Merry Merlot card cut using the same dies, and then scored and folded Thick Whisper White card.
The greeting is stamped below the panels using Mossy Meadow ink. A little stepped up, still fairly simple, but so pretty. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the flower and leaves once more using Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow ink.
The third card is more for the avid stamper who has a lot more supplies on hand. I embossed the top two-thirds of Whisper White card using the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder and stamped the greeting using Mossy meadow ink below the embossing.
I wrapped the edge of the embossing using Old Olive Linen Thread before attaching the panel to scored and folded Thick Whisper White card. I stamped the flower and leaves using Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow ink and cut them out using one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. I attached the stamped panel to a Merry Merlot rectangle (cut using the same dies) and then the card front using dimensionals. To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the flower and leaves onto the lower left hand corner of the Thick Whisper White card using the same inks.
So what do you think, did I achieve my goal and create three very similar cards for the three different types of stampers?
Bye for now,
Kris

Another Lasting Lilly
This card was also created after I had tried simple stamping. This one is more for the avid crafter, the kind of person who “has to have it all”. Perhaps the kind of person who would love to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator so that they can purchase their own supplies and get a discount. If that is you, please contact me to get more information about joining my team while Sale-a-bration is on. You get an amazing amount of products for a small price which is a great way to add more of the things you love to your stash.
Anyway, this time I embossed Whisper White card using the Dot to Dot Embossing Folder before attaching to scored and folded Flirty Flamingo card. I cut a rectangle from Flirty Flamingo card using the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies and attached it to the embossed card. I stamped the small flower and the co-ordinating stem from the Lasting Lily stamp set using Daffodil Delight ink and Old Olive ink and cut them out using a smaller Rectangle Stitched Framelit Die.
I also stamped the small flower and stem onto scrap Whisper White card and cut them out. I attached the fussy cut flower over the stamped flowers and then attached the panel to the card front. Don’t you love how these rectangles look layered together? I stamped the greeting from the Lasting Lily stamp set onto Whisper White card using Old Olive ink and cut it out using one of the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. The greeting is attached to an Old Olive scalloped oval, cut using the same dies, and then the card front using dimensionals.
To decorate the inside of this card, I stamped another of the greetings from the Lasting Lily stamp set using Old Olive ink.
Don’t forget, this is one of the stamp sets you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.

Try Stamping on Tuesday 389
Today’s card was created using the current sketch challenge at Try Stamping on Tuesday. I am on a little bit of a roll using Designer Series paper as the focal point on my card as you can see. I cut Balmy Blue card using the Delicate Lace Edgelits Dies and attached it behind the lower edge of a piece of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper which you can have for free with a qualifying order. The panel is attached to Whisper White card and then scored and folded Balmy Blue card. I cut Balmy Blue card using the banner from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set onto Whisper White card using Balmy Blue ink. I cut out the greeting using one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.
I cut the Balmy Blue banner in half and attached it behind the greeting so that you could see both ends. The greeting is attached to the card front using dimensionals.
To decorate the inside of the card, I cut Balmy Blue card using the same Delicate Lace Edgelit Die and cut it down to fit behind a narrow strip of Designer Series Paper. The designer series paper is attached to the bottom of Whisper White card.
I am really liking the idea of making the Designer Series paper the focal point of some of my cards. It’s a great way to use some of the beautiful papers which are available both in the Annual Catalogue and the new Occasions Catalogue.
I’d love to know what you think.

Freshly Made 369
The card sketch at Freshly Made this week gave me an opportunity to cut into the Happiness Blooms Designer Series paper. Sometimes, although I love really patterned paper, I get a little lost as to how to use it. So for this card, I attached a piece of the Happiness Blooms Designer Series paper to Night of Navy card and then Whisper White card. The whole panel is attached to scored and folded Night of Navy card. I attached a piece of Night of Navy card across the card front and also a piece of the Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon. I stamped “happy belated birthday from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set onto Whisper White card using Night of Navy ink and punched out the greeting using the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch.
I attached the greeting to a 1-3/4″ circle punched from Call Me Clover card. Then just to dress it up a little I used the Bitty Blooms Punch pack to create a flower.
The flower is punched from Lovely Lipstick card with a Pineapple Punch card centre. The leaves are punched from Call Me Clover card. The punches co-ordinate with the Bloom by Bloom stamp set and can be purchased as a bundle to save you 10%.
To decorate the inside of the card, I attached a piece of Night of Navy card behind one long edge of the same Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper. The panel is attached across the bottom of Whisper White card.
I think I am going to like this layout for showing off my Designer Series Paper. What do you think?
Bye for now,
Kris
