Something for Baby
This is a card we made at a recent class at Beachmere. I had seen this kind of card on various blogs and probably on Pinterest as well.
I punched the bottom of the Baked Brown Sugar card using the Decorative Label Punch and then stamped it using the Hardwood Background and Baked Brown Sugar ink. I also stamped strips of Baked Brown Sugar with the same stamp and ink and attached them using dimensionals to the card front to look like drawers.
The coat hanger and the bootie from the Something For Baby stamp set are stamped in Pistachio Pudding ink on Whisper White card and then cut out using the matching Baby’s First Framelit Dies. The coathanger is kind of hooked behind the top edge of the top “drawer” and the bootie has been tied with Whisper White Baked Brown Sugar and kind of hangs from the third “drawer”.
The onsie is stamped in Crisp Cantaloup, then cut using the matching Baby’s First Framelit Die and attached over the coathanger. The greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set is stamped onto Whisper White card using Baked Brown Sugar ink and punched using the Small Oval Punch. The edges of the oval are sponged with Crisp Cantaloup ink before attaching to the card front. Large Basic Pearls have been added to represent the drawer handles.
The decoration on the inside of the card has been kept quite simple The “stacked ring” image has been stamped onto the lower left hand corner of Whisper White card using Crisp Cantaloup ink. The duck was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar onto Whisper White card, cut using the matching Baby’s First Framelit Dies and attached over the stamped image.
I love that we have so many stamp sets with matching framelits and my customers love that they don’t have to hand cut so much.
Let me know what you think.
Bye for now,
Kris

Look at me
My mother gave me some photos recently of myself as a baby. My parents lived with my grandparents when I was born and the photos are taken in their back yard with their dog Sandy, who apparently was very protective of me. It was perfect timing because we just been told of the release of Project Life and I decided to scrap the photos using the Pocket Pages Stampin’ Up! were going to be releasing.
The new kits hadn’t been released but I knew what Pocket Page layouts would be available and because the photos were so small, I scrapped each of the 4″ x 6″ pockets like a small page. I am so happy with the way the pages turned out. The designer series paper I used (Epic Day This & That) is now retired and so is the embossing folder (Framed Tulips), but I love that you can make these types of pages quickly and simply or you can get a little fancy.
I used MDS to create some of the 3″ x 4″ pocket cards. I also used the This and That Washi Tape to make the hearts and added a few pockets of embossed card in matching colours – our colour co-ordination makes this so easy.
I have lots more photos that my Mum gave me and this style of scrapbooking is going to make it much easier for me to actually get them into albums. I hope you have all had a chance to try out Project Life in some form or another.
Bye for now,
Kris

Hello Again
Thank you so much to those of you who left messages for me hoping everything was ok after my last post. Unfortunately my mother-in-law passed away last Sunday rather suddenly, although she had been struggling with Chronic Lung Disease for many years.
So now I am home and back to posting regularly again – maybe! I was able to hold my catalogue launch last Saturday with my lovely customers, friends and downline. I had two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I have lovely customers who have all become great friends. I spent some time explaining the new catalogue and some of the new products before letting everyone try their hand at using the new Blendibilities.
Blendibilities are such fun but you do need to know a couple of things about them before you start using them. Firstly they are alcohol markers and because of this the lids are quite tight which can make them a little difficult to get off. Once you need to close the lid again, you need to make sure that the tip of the marker is aligned correctly inside the lid and the best way to do that is to lay the marker and lid on the table and slide them together. You also need to use the correct ink to stamp your image and for our Blendibilities that ink is Memento Tuxedo Black. This is a water based ink and will not blend with the alcohol markers, so you won’t get any smudging.
Ok, so what did we make, well we made a very simple card using the Bloom with Hope stamp set which is a Hostess set from the new catalogue. This set is perfect for use with the Blendibilites. I have already shared a couple of cards using this set and I am sure you will see many more over the coming year
The Whisper White card is embossed using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and attached to scored and folded Basic Black card. A strip of Basic Black card has both long edges punched using the Scallop Edge Border Punch. A strip of Cherry Cobbler card is attached and the piece is wrapped with Old Olive 1/8″ Tafetta Ribbon before attaching to the card front. The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendibilites. Once coloured the image panel is attached to Basic Black card and then the card front.
So that everyone had plenty of time to chat, look through the catalogue and view new product, I prepared all of the pieces for the ladies to take home and assemble their card later.
One of the wonderful things about Blendibilities is that they come in sets of three – light, medium and dark. So for even a beginner or a colouring challenged person like me, you can get a really lovely effect by blending the colours as you go. Unfortunately, the complete range shown in the catalogue is not available yet, however, six colours (Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry) and the Skin Tone assortment are available. As well you can purchase the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and refill, and the Colour Lifter. The Colour Lifter lets you add even more high light to your images by moving the colour around and creating highlights in your image.
I had lots of product to show the ladies and tried to present the product in a finished card or project. Of course I had to display the Project Life range including the smaller size 6″ x 8″ album and the 6″ x 8″ pocket pages. The Blendibilities with a few cards made using the Bloom with Hope Hostess stamp set and the In This Together stamp set. I had a few of the new embossing folders and the fantastic new Little Letters Thinlets.
I hope you have had a chance to spend some time looking through your catalogue and see all the beautiful new product. I think it is a gorgeous catalogue with lovely photos and great projects to get us all inspired.
So that’s it from me today and thanks once again for all your support.
Bye for now,
Kris

Hooray for Project Life
Here is a project I cased to show that the Project Life Cards can be used for things other than pocket scrapbooking – how about making a card. This card was inspired by one that I found by Patty Bennett on Pinterest. I changed a few things but love the idea.
I rounded the corners of the Everyday Adventure Pocket Card using the Project Life Corner Punch and attached it to the card front. I stamped the greeting from the Geometrical stamp set onto the centre of the pocket card using Bermuda Breeze ink. I stamped the triangle images from the same stamp set onto Whisper White card using Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry ink and punched them out using the matching Triangle Punch. I attached them to the left hand corner using dimensionals. I punched the flowers from Bermuda Breeze, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry card using the punch from the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
I attached the flowers to the card front and added small Basic Rhinestones to the centre. I also added one slightly larger Basic Rhinestone to the Strawberry Slush triangle.
Inside the card, I stamped triangles using the same inks, punched them out and attached them to a strip of Whisper White card which I trimmed the card to fit inside the card. I punched one long edge of a strip of Pumpkin Pie card using the Scallop Border Punch and attached the triangle strip to the centre before attaching the whole piece to the inside of the card.
This is a simple card but I love that using the Pocket Card was a quick way to add a greeting without having to create additional mats. Thanks Patty for the inspiration.
So again I hope that you are seeing these Pocket Cards will be a wonderful addition to your Craft Room in many different ways.
Bye for now,
Kris

Moonlight and Butterflies
The large circle on the sketch at Technostamper this week made me think of the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. I teamed it with the more of the Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack.
I embossed Whisper White card using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Hello Honey card. I attached a piece of the Hello Honey coloured designer series paper to the left hand side of the embossed card. I stamped the “starburst” image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set onto Whisper White card using Mossy Meadow ink, cut it out using one of the Circle Framelit Dies and attached over the designer series paper. I cut another piece of the designer series paper using a Banner Framelit Die and attached it to the lower edge of the card front.
I stamped the dotted image onto Whisper White card using Sahara Sand ink and stamped the greeting over the top using Basic Gray ink and again cut it out using a Banner Framelit Die. The greeting is attached over the DSP banner. I stamped the large butterfly using Blackberry Bliss ink and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.
I stamped the small butterfly using Sahara Sand ink and punched it out using the Bitty Butterfly Punch. The butterflies are attached to each other using Glue Dots and then the card front. I like to add a Glue Dot in the centre of the large butterfly and 1/2 a dimensional under each wing just to give it a little lift. I added three Basic Rhinestones to the centre of the butterflies.
Inside the card I stamped the starburst image again using Mossy Meadow ink and the dotted image using Smoky Slate ink.
This is such a great sketch and I think the card is just gorgeous. What do you think? I’m also a little bit in love with the Moonlight Designer Series Paper stack because it has such lovely designs and colours.

Another New Colour
Well I hope everyone has had a great time looking through the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue. Mine is pretty well thumbed already and even though I have placed my first order, my wish list is still long.
I used the sketch from the current challenge at Create with Connie and Mary to create this card and to showcase another new in-colour.
I embossed Sahara Sand card using the Arrow Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Lost Lagoon card. I attached a piece of designer series paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack to Lost Lagoon card which has one long edge punched using the Scallop Border Punch before attaching it to the card front. I cut a banner from Blackberry Bliss card and attached it to the centre of the designer series paper.
I stamped the shell image from the By the Tide stamp set onto Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink and cut it out using the smallest Oval Framelit Die. I attached it to an oval cut from Sahara Sand card using one size larger Oval Framelit Die. The ovals are attached to each other and then the card front using dimensionals.
Inside the card I stamped the shell image using Blackberry Bliss ink, masked it and then stamped the seaweed image over the top using Lost Lagoon ink. Another strip of the designer series paper is attached to Lost Lagoon card with one long edge punched using the Scallop Border Punch before being attached to the stamped card.
I really love the way the Blackberry Bliss colour pops on this card, what about you? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Bye for now,
Kris

Hooray for Today
I have had a little time to break out some new product and some of the new in-colours. I used the sketch from this weeks Technostamper Challenge to bring the product together.
I embossed a piece of Blackberry Bliss card using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and attached it to scored and folded Whisper White card. I added a piece of designer paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack to the left hand side of the embossed card. I stamped the greeting from the Geometrical stamp set onto Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink, attached it to Hello Honey card and then the card front.
I stamped the images from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set onto Whisper White card using Blackberry Bliss ink, punched them out with the Hexagon Punch and then attached them to the card front using dimensionals. I added a strip of Basic Rhinestones below the greeting not just to add some bling but because I found a small smudge of ink and needed to cover it. No such thing as a mistake, just a creative opportunity!
Inside the card I attached a strip of the same designer series paper to Blackberry Bliss card which has one edge punched with the Scallop Border Punch. Very simple.
This card uses two of the exciting new in-colours which will be released with the New Catalogue on Tuesday. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the gorgeous new product in this catty! Because I have used lots of new product I can’t add a direct link in the Product Used section. You will have to search a little yourself after the 1st July.

Sketch Challenge
I was looking for inspiration for some of my new stamp sets and found the sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday and thought it would work well with Kinda Eclectic. We were given this stamp set at Convention to complete our Make and Takes. It has some beautiful images and is really fun to use.
I stamped the sunburst image from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Smoky Slate and then stamped the dotted image from the same stamp set across the lower portion of the image using Elegant Eggplant ink.
I stamped the leaf image onto Very Vanilla card twice without re-inking using Summer Starfruit ink. I attached the small stamped piece to the card front using temporary adhesive and stamped the leaf image several times without re-inking each time so that the leaves spilled onto the card front. I removed the small stamped piece, attached it to Smoky Slate card and then to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the flower from the Flower Shop stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Elegant Eggplant ink and punched it out using the Pansy Punch. I stamped the small flower from the Petite Petals stamp set onto Very Vanilla card using Summer Starfruit ink and punched it out using the Petite Petal Punch.
I gave the flowers some dimension, attached them together using a Glue Dot and then attached them to the small panel again using Glue Dots. I added a Basic Pearl to the flower centre.
To decorate the inside of the card I stamped the leaf image using Summer Starfruit several times without re-inking across the bottom of Very Vanilla card. I stamped the dotted image across the bottom of the leaves using Elegant Eggplant ink and then wrapped the lowest edge of the Very Vanilla card using Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon before attaching it to the inside of the card.
Unfortunately some of the colours and product on this card are retiring, so you only have until the end of June to get your hands on Summer Starfruit ink or the beautiful Summer Starfruit 5/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. While it is sad to see these in-colours retire, the colours replacing them are just lovely. The Kinda Eclectic stamp set of course won’t be available until the release of the new catalogue on the 1st July. So this card features something old and something new.
I’d really love it if you left me a comment and let me know what you think.
Bye for now,
Kris
